Seven years later

I stood outside, taking in the beautiful scenery around me, the rolling hills, the mountains off in the distance, and the fields of plants that I had planted last spring, with strawberries, wheat, and various other vegetables that were growing with the assistance of my farmer's hat. I stood in the middle of one of the paths I had dug, waiting for the airship to come down, and after a minute, I heard the sound of my son behind me running up to me.

"Pa!!" He yelled.

I turned around, getting a big smile that spread across my face, and I picked him up, holding him in my arms as he looked at me. He was much more human than mermaid, taking after most of my features instead of my wife's, and yet, my daughter looked almost exactly like her mother, fins and tail and all.

"What's up buddy?"

"Ma wanted me to ask if I can have blueberry pie!"

"Sure buddy."

"Thanks pa!" He said, then looked at the sky. "Is that Ormgaul?"

I looked up to the sky, and sure enough, there was the airship, crewed by more than Ormgaul and Haneen, who were much, much older and much, much more mature at this point. Haneen was a young lady, and Ormgaul had grown so big he was nearly as tall as me already. Boy, do they grow up fast.

The airship slowly descended, banking down as the old elemental, Bartholomew, carried the weight of the ship to the ground, where Ormgaul waved at me. I waved back, inviting him down, and both she and Ormgaul jumped down onto the ground, landing next to one of my magical scarecrows. Ormgaul looked grizzled and older, being that Dragonborns grow faster than humans, and yet, he was still like a son to me.

"Hey guys." I said. "How's it going?"

"Good!" Ormgaul said. "Just did another cargo run, maybe next year I can pay you back for the full airship."

"Har har." I laughed, but I gave him a wink. "And you, Haneen?"

"Just making sure he doesn't get in any trouble." She said, then hugged me. "It's good to see you, dad. Hey there Trevon!"

My son gave her a high five, and I set him on the ground as he stared at the airship, running around the hull and playing with Bartholomew, who was surprisingly good with children. I was just about to say something to Ormgaul and Haneen, when I heard the voice of my wife from the large farmhouse that we lived in.

"Honey!" She called. "The pie is ready!"

"Coming!" I yelled.

"Oh, hey there guys!" She called to Ormgaul and Haneen. "I'm really glad to see you guys!"

"Good to see you too, mom!" Ormgaul hollered. "We're going to head out in a second, but we really wanted to see you, dad."

"And I'm happy to see you too." I said. "I love both of you."

They smiled, then hugged me, and I wrapped my arms around both of them.

"I love you both." I said, and they gave me smiles, before turning to the ship as I turned back to Finana, who was standing there with my daughter. "Trevon, come on! We got pie for you buddy!"

My son came running up the hill, through the path, and past the two gravestones. One for a fairy, and one for the best damn wizard I had ever met in my life.
