I slowly awoke to the sound of rain hitting the deck of the ship above us, and I writhed in the bed. I finally woke all the way up, and I slung the covers off before looking around at the hold around me. I was about to wonder where my friends were, when suddenly, Finana yelled from the top deck.

"TREVON!!! GET UP HERE!!!"

I threw off the covers and slipped my armor suit on, then grabbed my Halberd, put on my helmet, and thundered up the stairs.

"Whats going on??"

"Look out there!!!! We got company!!!"

I looked out over the deck of the ship, and there was a large beast that was lumbering through the forest, from the direction of the lake. And, thankfully enough, I recognized it. A Chuul, complete with the four large armored legs, and the two pincers. It also had the large tail that slapped against one of the trees, and as I stared it down, the tentacle mouth chittered at me, and the tentacles were sliding and waving back and forth hungrily. I held my Halberd at the ready, and BahnBarr and Finana looked at me.

"Do you think it sees us?"

The Chuul immediately roared at us, and it started waving its pincers around while coming towards us. I grabbed the Halberd and hold it at the ready, and both BahnBarr and Finana backed up in surprise.

"YEAH IT SEES US!!!" I said, then, with a surge of courage, I raced forward, brandishing my Halberd at the ready.

The Chuul roared at us, but I managed to get the jump on it, and I swung my Halberd.

"FRAHREAK!!!!!!" I screamed in rage as the Chuul roared.

I slashed the Halberd across the thing's front legs, and it roared as the Halberd pierced right though its shell. The Chuul chittered and spun, trying to regain its bearings, but from up on the deck, I heard BahnBarr yelling in Elvish, and three, small spectral darts flew out of her hand, all three of them striking the Chuul and pushing it back slightly. The Chuul chittered at the force of the impact, its eyes nearly glowing with rage. It staggered back, trying to regain its footing, and out of the corner of my rain-soaked vision, I saw Finana rush to the Chuul, brandishing her Glaive, but suddenly, lightning flashed across the sky. At first, I thought nothing of it in the seconds that it was there, but it violently flashed, and suddenly, Finana fell to the deck, her Glaive clattering away on the ramp as she fell prone. She kicked and jerked, her head going back and forth, and I saw that her eyes had rolled back. She was having a seizure.

"NOO!!" I yelled.

The Chuul roared, then reared back and brought its huge pincers down on her, and I watched with almost breathless relief as both of the pincers narrowly missed her, slamming into the deck as the lightning flashed again. the time, I grabbed my Halberd and ran in at the ready, but instead of attacking, I grabbed Finana by her shoulders and, with a burst of strength, I flung her up the ramp and onto the deck of the ship, where BahnBarr was waiting. As soon as Finana was out of harms way, I heard Bahnbarr yell from behind me.

"DUCK!!!!!!" She screamed.

I hit the deck of the ramp, and suddenly, over my head, a large ring of fire blasted out from the Red Dragon's scale that was in her hand, and while the Chuul successfully avoided most of the ring of fire, a small bit of it hit, and the creature roared in pain as it reared its claws back again, this time aiming for me. I rolled out of the way as one of the pincers grazed my armor, deflecting onto the ramp, but the other pincer came down with a shriek, and the pincer got right into a chink in the armor, and I felt my skin slice right open. Pain surged through me, and I felt a burst of energy as I forced the claw out of me, and I held my flaming Halberd at the ready. I charged onward with a swing, bringing my Halberd into a deadly arc, and I cut the monster right through the throat, letting more blood loose as it staggered back from the hit. Before it could react, however, I screamed a sonorous war cry, and I brought the halberd into probably the single most brutal stab that I had ever managed, and I pushed the Chuul back down the ramp of the ship. I looked back as the Chuul tried to figure out what just happened, and I saw Finana struggling to her feet, with BahnBarr helping her.
