CRAAAABOOOMM!!! Another peal of thunder flashed through the air, and the rain slapped at me while a shot a look at Finana.
"I thought you said this would be fine!!"
"Yeah, its not that cold!"
She said that right as I started shivering, and the wind picked up, splashing rain all over us and the carriage as the convoy continued forward, and I saw that Finana was pulling her shawl over her head and shivering.
"What, I thought it wasn't cold, huh?"
"Shut up, I didn't think the rain would come this hard!" She replied. "Lets get inside the carriage, yeah?"
"Alright, that sounds good!"
We both limbed off of the top of the carriage, and when we hit the mud and water of the ground, my boots sank in, and the cold mud chilled my feet to the bone.
"Aww come on." I said, grabbing the sides of the carriage.
I got into the carriage, successfully shielding myself from the rain, and Finana climbed in just as we shut the doors. My armor was still rather comfortable and dry, but my boots were soaked with mud.
"Sorry." Finana said, staring at the mud soaked boot.
"Its not that big a deal." I said, stomping my boot against the ground to shake out all the mud.
A lot of the mud was dislodged, and I laid back with Finana, trying to get comfortable in the rather cramped carriage, and I felt Finana turn over in the small bed as she shivered, like a fish out of the water, which was partially true.
"You alright?" I said, with a little bit of smugness. "You cold over there?"
"Oh shut up."
I smiled to myself yet again, took off the breastplate of my armor along with the arm pieces, and I laid back and pulled a blanket over myself. I got nice and comfy, but right as my eyes were closing, I heard Finana shiver a little bit right next to me. I knew that I could've poked more fun at her, but instead, I just sighed, listening to the sounds of the rain pounding on the roofs above us.
"Can you tell me any more about your world?" Finana asked, fidgeting next to me.
"Well, what do you want to know?"
"What did you do all day?" She asked. "You seem decent at fighting."
"Yeah, funny enough in my world I never fought." I said, then snuck a peek at my Halberd, leaning against the opposite wall of the carriage. "I don't really know how I'm good at fighting here."
We continued talking like that, just going over the specifics of my world and a little bit of my past life, but finally, there was another crack of the lightning, and Finana yawned as she stared at the darkness outside of the carriage.
"Tired?"
"Yeah. I just need some sleep."
"Alright, I'll take the floor if need be."
"No no, you're fine." She said. "Just don't hit me like in the tavern."
I chuckled to myself, and I laid back in the bed, laying on my side as Finana got herself nice and comfortable, and I stared out of the small crack in the curtains next to me, and through the rain and peals of lightning, I thought I saw a huge shape rise and fall out of the water.
A whale, maybe?

Another jostle of the carriage, and finally, I woke up, still laying on the rather soft surface of the bed. It was a little bit brighter outside, but still, it was drizzling rain, and I saw streams of rainwater flowing through the dirt outside. I got up from the bed, strapping on my armor and making sure I was as quiet as possible to not wake Finana up just yet. I just finished strapping on my breastplate when there was a small knock on the side of the carriage.
