I'm in my room, planning out outfits for the week. I'm doing anything to keep my mind off of Jessica, and the guys. The one thing I'll never forget is when I opened the door to my exes' dorm, and saw another girl on top of him. That girl being Jessica. Jessica didn't even have a surprised or sincere face. She just winked at me, and kept marking out with my ex. I knew her from her being on the cheerleading squad, so I knew her Instagram. I messaged her a bunch of stuff, and that was the end of all our interactions until today. Why did I have to be in the café, the same time as Jessica? Why did the guys come over? Why did William sound sort of sincere? There are too many questions that I don't want to think about. Grace told us that she was going to call Damon to try and become friends with him. I get lost in all my thoughts, when I get a call. It's from William. I really don't feel like talking to him right now, because I know that there's a good chance that he'll want to talk about the Jessica situation. But a tiny part of me accepts the call.
"Why are you calling me?" I ask, already knowing the reason.
"I don't want to talk about Jessica. I just want to know if you're ok." That caught my attention. I didn't think any of these football boys cared about any of us city girls. William could still be lying, but it's nice to hear someone care about you, when you don't expect it.
"Well, I'm not ok. But I'm also not breaking down on my washroom floor, eating a tub of mint chocolate chip ice cream." I say.
"First of all, I'm glad you aren't feeling horrible. Second of all, why mint chocolate chip ice cream?" I get asked.
"Why not? Mint chocolate chip ice cream is the best of the best."
"Whatever helps you sleep at night." I roll my eyes, but also find myself smiling.
"Is that your best line, William?" I say, weirdly turning this conversation into banter.
"What's with the full first name? I thought you would be calling me Will by now."
"Your totally right. One study session, and I already want to be considered a chick." I say, sarcastically.
"You don't have to be a chick if you don't want to. I'm fine with you just being Lexi." I don't say anything for a little bit, just because I'm a little bit shocked at how sincere Will is- I mean William is being. What snaps me out of my thoughts is a text notification from Blair.

That text also brings me back to the fact that I haven't said anything for the last couple of minutes

That text also brings me back to the fact that I haven't said anything for the last couple of minutes.
"I guess we'll see."
"So... friends?" William asks. I'm guessing that the silence I created, made this conversation awkward.
"Sounds fun." Fun? Why did I say fun?
"Ok. I guess friends means that I'll talk to you later."
"Yeah. Bye." I say awkwardly.
"Bye." William says before hanging up. I'm glad I'm not tutoring him, or else Friday would have been super awkward.
