9. Movie night

The next day, it was time to leave for thaana and Karishma was already ready wearing her uniform impatient to get back to her case and thaana.

She waited for some more time before going near Haseena's room and knocking.

"Maddam sir chalein?" She called but she could hear Haseena was on call with someone so she moved away to give her privacy.

"Ammi aap samaj kyun nahi rahi hai. Humme nahi dekhna kisi ko bhi. Ji nahi." Haseena was busily arguing. In all her haste he had forgotten about a couple of her uniform buttons being undone and left the room. Karishma looked at Haseena coming out of her room getting ready to leave with her when she noticed Haseena's state. She felt her cheeks heating up.

"Maddam sir aapke woh-" she tried to reason but Haseena was in no state of listening.

"Ji ammi. Haan. Karishma bhi hai humare saat. Nahi. Ji." She kept answering her ammi. Karishma had had enough of her tantrums. When she noticed that Haseena was about to step out of the house, she quickly pulled her by holding her on either of her sides and made her stand in front of her.
Haseena was about to reply to another question that her ammi had thrown at her but her breath got hitched when she felt Karishma Singh pulling her by the hem of her uniform shirt. Karishma completely ignored her state and started buttoning her uniform carefully.

"Ab theek hai." She said dusting off something invisible near the three stars on Haseena's shoulder with a smile filled with loads of pride and admiration. Haseena was still gaping at her. After messing up Haseena's existence, Karishma carried on innocently, leaving her behind.

"Ammi-" Haseena exhaled "Hum baad mein baat karegey." she said with difficulty and breathed in and out continuously, calming herself before locking the door. Karishma was waiting on her bike with a smile. The smile seemed so sweet and it might have made anyone else suspicious but Haseena politely smiled back. Haseena got on the jeep and started it but it didn't want to co-operate. She tried twice thrice and after realising that the battery was dead she looked at Karishma who was still looking at Haseena.

"Ayiye" Karishma gestured still seated on her bike and Haseena climbed behind her. Karishma handed her the spare helmet.

"Ji chaliye." She said after buckling the helmet and Karishma started towards the thaana gleefully.

Haseena and Karishma reached the thaan together. Pushpa ji was outside drinking chai chatting away with Santhosh. Karishma's bike brought their attention towards the couple. Santhosh Sharma whistled and raised her eyebrows at Pushpa ji.

"iiisshhhhh." Pushpa ji said dramatically
"Humare lalla ke paapa ke saath bhi hum bilkul aise hi bike pe saat chaltey tey.

"Kya Pushpaji aap aur lalla ke pappa toh ek dusre se pyaar kartey tey."

"Uff yeh masumiyat Santu ji." Cheetah said adoring how Santu was the only one still unaware of the love between Karishma and Haseena.

Karishma had been on field duty the whole day and she came to mpt right on time because she and Haseena had to leave together. Haseena was looking outside her cabin already and on hearing Karishma's voice she left her cabin done for the day.

"Chaliye Karishma Singh." She said. Karishma rotating her keychain with her usual style left the thaana with Haseena.

"Waise maddam sir aaj humme ice-cream khaane ka bahoth mann kar raha hai ka hum kaheen rastey mein thoda icecream le lein" She asked and Haseena's eyes twinkled.

"Ji aur popcorn bhi. Aaj raat hum movie dekhengey." She announced. She didn't wait for Karishma to handover the helmet. She just took it and wore it but left it unbuckled.

"Accha? Kouse picture dekhney waale hai aap Maddam sir." Karishma asked. She was already seated on her bike but reached out to Haseena to buckle her helmet.

"Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Ghum. Humara all time favourite film hai." Haseena said sitting behind Karishma.

Pushpa ji Santu Cheetah were watching from the thaana in fact gaping would be the right word.

"Yeh dono toh-" Pushpa ji started
"Bilkul" cheetah continues
"Married lag rahe hai." Santu finished their sentences and all the three smiled at each other as if their favourite celebrity couple had just made their relationship public.

Karishma and Haseena reached home after buying whatever they needed and went into their respective rooms to get changed.

"Karishma Singh?"

"Ji aagaye" she said moving to the kitchen to bring the icecream tub and popcorn that Haseena had requested.

They both sat beside each other picking their choice of snacks, watching the movie with utter interest as if it was their first time.

"Arrey re yeh humari favourite scene aane waali hai."

"Koun Ashfaqmiyaan" they both echoed the famous dialogue laughing their hearts out at how they both knew the dialogues by heart.

"Arrey wah Karishma Singh aapko romantic movies bhi pasandh hai." Haseena teased.

"Ji haan bilkul pasand hai. Kyun maddam sir dekkhe pata nahi chalta hai ka?" she asked.

"Bilkul nahi. Aapko dekkhe kisko lagega ki aapko romantic movies pasand hai." Haseena said playfully, provoking Karishma.

"Hum bahoth romantic hai. Aur toh aur hum romance comedy bahoth pasand kartey hai. Aap toh jaanti hi hongi. Girlfriend jo hai humari, haina Haseena ji." Karishma smirked at Haseena.

Haseena looked at Karishma in amusement..
