"Haseena ji rukhiye toh sahi." Karishma caught up with Haseena.

When she was caught up, she just walked beside Haseena, her hands in her pocket.

"Haseena can we talk about this like adults?" Karishma said and Haseena looked at her with disbelief.

"Argue aap kar rahi thi Karishma Singh. Hum baat hi kar rahe tey." Haseena said but continued to walk. She was taking long strides and Karishma had to hurriedly walk to keep up with her.

"Haseena ji please humara saat dijiye aur humme Karishma Singh bula kyun rahi hai aap? phir hum bhi professional mode mein chale jayengey aur hum aapko Maddam sir pukarengey." Karishma said keeping up with Haseena.

Haseena shook her head at Karishma.

"Waise toh senior ki baat nahi manti aap girlfriend ki baat kya khaak manengi.."

"Excuse me Ms. Haseena Mallik hum aapke baat humesha maantey hai." Karishma said and even she doubted her own words. Haseena just gave a humourless chuckle.

"Aap chalna band kerengi? Aap ke ek khadam ko match karney ke liye humme dho lena pad raha hai aur hum waise bhi thak gaye hai. Aur un gundon se already hum ladke ghar aye tey aur aap hai ki humme aise dhouda rahi hai." Haseena stopped walking. Karishma sighed in relief and walked in front of Haseena facing her. Haseena was just standing there after listening to Karishma's words about how she was in the midst of a life threatening situation yet again. A lone tear escaped her eye.

"Karishma can we go home?" Haseena's voice was somber and desperate and Karishma didn't want to further upset her.

"Ji hum bike lekar aate hai."

They returned home and Karishma parked her bike. Haseena got down, removing her helmet. She had made a decision. A very tough one that was weighing down on her.

"Karishma kya aap yeh assignment lene waali hai?"

Karishma heaved a sigh and nodded in affirmation.

"Karishma humsey yeh nahi hoga. Hum nahi jee saktey bas yeh sochkar ki aapko kya hoga, ki aap theek hai ki nahi. Humsey nahi hoga roz aise takleef mein rehna." She said in a low voice.

"Kuch nahi hoga hume Haseena ji. Bas behosh ho gaye tey." Haseena stopped her with a hand gesture. Karishma walked towards her and Haseena took a step back.

"Yeh sab hone ke baad bhi aap undercover hona chahti hai, aapke jaan ko daanv pe lagana chahti hai jabki crimes division jaisi thakatwar department kuch nhai kar payi hai.."

"Haseena are you doubting me?"

"Hum bas yeh keh rahe hai aapko aapki jaan ki koi parwah nahi hai. Yeh jaantey huve bhi ki aap ko kuch ho jata toh hum bhi jeena chod dengey."

"Haseena aap aise kyun-"

"Nahi. Humsey nahi hoga Karishma. Please. Humme baksh dijiye." Haseena had a stone cold expression on her face. And her cold demeanor finally made Karishma aware of the situation she was in.

"Haseena are you breaking up with me?"

Haseena couldn't look at Karishma anymore. She just turned towards where Karishma's bike was parked.

Karishma gently pulled her by her upper arm making her look at her.

"Are you breaking up with me Haseena?" She asked again, mincing each word for it pained her to even imagine a life, a universe where Haseena Mallik wasn't her better half. Her significant other.

"Haan." Haseena whispered and Karishma left her arm as soon as the word escaped Haseena's mouth. Tears made their way to Karishma's eyes and she let them fall. She didn't care if it made her look weak. Her heart was aching and seeming weak was the least of her concerns now.
