Haseena was silent on the ride home. Karishma looked at Haseena through the rear mirror and her face reflected her inner turmoil. It was as if she wanted to ask Karishma a million things but kept to herself like always did when in pain. Karishma abruptly put brakes on her bike and Haseena held her shoulders to stop herself from colliding into Karishma.
"Kya hua Karishma?" She said getting down.
"Aap batayiye Haseena ji aapko ka baat pareshaan kar rahi hai." Karishma said getting down and removing her helmet."Humme kuch pareshaan nahi kar rahi hai. Aap please beech sadak drama na karein. Ghar chalke baat kartey hai." Haseena said turning her head but her expression said otherwise. It was starting to drizzle but the duo didn't mind.
"Drama? Humne bas aapko poocha ki aap pareshaan kyun hai, isme drama waali kya baat hai? Aur aap humare saat aise baat kyun kar rahi hai Haseena ji? Ka humne kuch glat kiya hai?"
Haseena remained silent. Karishma moved near her placing her index finger below Haseena's chin she made her look at her.
"Ka hua? Boliye na." She spoke softly.
"Aap transfer lene waali hai?" Haseena asked in a confrontational manner.
"Transfer? Hum kyun transfer lengey?"
"Jhoot mat boliye please ab joh bhi hai bata dijiye. Humko aapki aadat ho gayi hai par hum manage kar lengey. Bas bata dijiye humko." She requested.
"Hum aapko chodkar kaheen nahi jayengey."
"Toh phir aapki shaadi?"
"Humari shaadi? Ka baat kar rahi hai aap maddam sir. Woh ammi uss din pooch rahi thi aur humney aise hi bata diya tha ki hum sochengey."
"Toh aap Punjab nahi ja rahi hai?" Haseena asked innocently and Karishma started laughing.
"Hum Punjab kyun jayengey Haseena ji." Karishma laughed even more.
"Aap humpar has rahi hai?"
"Ji haan." Karishma said in between her laughs.
Just then it had started raining, drenching them both and Karishma covered her head and pulled Haseena with her but Haseena wasn't budging. She held Karishma's hand entwining their fingers. Karishma didn't understand at first but then she looked into Haseena's eyes and they both stood there like that until they both were drenched head to toe.
Karishma walked towards Haseena until they were standing just inches apart. She was looking into Haseena's eyes with the same kind of passion she always had in them when they landed upon her. The kind of passion that burned Haseena even after being on the receiving end of it for so long. She forwarded her hand to Haseena's face, still looking into Haseena's eyes as if asking for permission for what she was about to do. Haseena simply leaned more into her hands placing her face in Karishma's palm."Aap jaanti hai na, isske baad sab badal jayega. Sab." Haseena mumbled.
Karishma leaned further rubbing her nose against Haseena's, earning a longing sigh from the latter. In spite of the nervousness she felt, a satisfied smile crawled its way onto her lips. She found it amusing. That a woman like Haseena wanted her. Her touch. Her love. Just the same way she wanted Haseena
She hesitated prolonging the moment and anticipation.
"I don't care." Karishma finally whispered before kissing Haseena with full passion no longer holding back. Haseena too responded with love and enthusiasm. This was entirely new for her but trusting Karishma was easy. Like breathing. She just went with Karishma's lead. Gladly.
Haseena's hands found Karishma's waist encircling her hand around her pulling her more into her while Karishma held Haseena's neck her other hand still entwined with Haseena's.
The rain was pouring incessantly and Haseena parted from Karishma to breathe. They were both panting after their phenomenal kiss. Their foreheads resting on each other. They were still not ready to let go.
"Ab ghar chalein?" Karishma asked and Haseena just nodded. They looked at each with a smile that communicated their love for each other. The rain was the only witness to the happiness they felt. It was as if they completed each other. It was as if their whole life had led them to this one moment. This was them. This was real.
..
On the ride home Haseena hugged Karishma from behind resting her chin on Karishma's shoulder. This time when Karishma looked at her through the rear mirror she smiled back, all the confusions melted away, she was feeling blissful and at peace. They reached home and walked to the porch dripping wet. They both were stealing glances at each other still thinking about their kiss.
"Haseena ji woh jo bhi hua humare beech-"
"Humare beech kya hua tha Karishma Singh kuch bhi toh nahi hua." Haseena said hiding her smile.
"Acha toh barish mein beech sadak humko kisney kiss kiya." Karishma asked angrily. She was bothered that Haseena was not acknowledging their beautiful moment. Their first kiss.
"Humney nahi kiya tha woh galathi se-" Haseena started saying something but the rest of her sentence no longer mattered for Karishma Singh had again captured her lips for a fervent kiss. This kiss was urgent unlike the previous one filled with love. Haseena participated eagerly and Karishma deepened the kiss earning a small moan from Haseena. Karishma smiled into the kiss and Haseena understood the reason behind this kiss.Karishma parted leaving her wanting more. Haseena looked at her desire filled eyes and her state was no different. Her hazel eyes were dark with desire too.
"Aise hi hua hoga galati se haina Haseena ji?" Karishma taunted.
"Ji galati nahi thi. Bahoth khoobsurat pal thi humare zindagi ke. Hum bas mazak kar rahe tey. Ab Bhaukal Singh ki taang kheechney ki aadat padd gayi hai humme" Haseena said with a sweet smile so contagious that it made Karishma smile.
"Acha? Aur kis kis cheez ki aadat padd gayi aapko?" Karishma encircled her hands around Haseena's shoulder.
"Aapke saat dinner karney ki. Aur movie dekhne ki bhi. Auuurr..." She said looking at Karishma's lips and Karishma captured her lips for a kiss again...
