The proceeding began but then the entire courtroom became dead silent. It was as if the crowd had witnessed something grave or were silent out of respect or fear. Haseena turned to look at the reason.

"Woh aah gayi hai." The suspect whispered getting up and so did the onlookers who had arrived to witness the proceeding.

Haseena's eyes widened.

The person the suspect was talking about, was none other than Karishma Singh. She walked into the courtroom in her aviators and leather jacket wearing a black shirt. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail and she removed her aviators and gestured to the onlookers to sit down. Even the judge nodded at her, acknowledging her presence as if him getting up would give away his allegiance to Karishma Singh. She directly walked to Jwala Sinha and sat beside her asking about the case she was about to present in a hushed voice.

She was yet to see Haseena but Haseena had seen her. After 3 whole months where everyday felt like an eternity. She slowly inhaled and exhaled trying to calm her racing heart. Making herself believe that she didn't matter. That seeing her was not the reason behind her anxiousness.

The sneer on the suspect's face widened looking at Haseena's reaction mistaking it to be her nervousness on coming face to face with Karishma Singh. Little did she know that Haseena Mallik feared nothing. She used to have the fear of losing the person she loved, the fear of putting someone before her duty and those fears were no longer there for the person who created those fears had left her taking those fears with her.

The lawyers put their points forward and it was time for the judges decision.

"-Latika Gosh ko yeh court nirdosh maanti hai aur unhein foran release kiya jayega." The judge stated and Haseena didn't miss how he glanced at Karishma once he had passed the judgement.

"Dismissed." The judge declared and left the courtroom.

Karishma nodded at him and stood to leave. The suspect or Latika as the court knew her forwarded her hand towards Haseena bidding her to remove the handcuffs.

"Meine bataya tha na ki woh humme yahaan se lene ayengi."

Haseena just chuckled at the suspect. Karishma might have been successful in raising in ranks and becoming such a relevant person in the Silagaur family but Haseena found this humorous because she knew Karishma Singh can be anything but a Criminal indulging in something illegal.

Karishma Singh uski pyaar bale hi bhool jaaye par uski vardhi ki joh zimmedari hai woh kabhie nahi bhulegi aur ussey yeh sab yaad dilane ki koi avashyakatha bhi nahi hai.

And somewhere deep inside she felt the sense of pride for her Junior. She recognised the familiar sensation and smiled at the comfort it offered her. She revelled in the familiar sensation for a brief second before the memories of the fateful day made their way to her thoughts. The way Karishma had pointed her gun at her resurfaced and she adopted her stone cold expression again and she kept away any thought about Karishma.

"Humein MPT jaakar formalities complete karna hoga aur usi ke baad release kar saktey hai." Haseena declared, dragging the drug peddler by her handcuffs outside the courtroom. There was a lot of commotion at this act of hers. The members of the gang all stood up following her closely but Haseena didn't care nor was she scared.

As Haseena neared the jeep, a lot of the bystanders were watching the men tailing her.

"Woh dekho Maddam sir ka peecha kar rahe hai. Aajao sab! Oye ram kaka aajao." A man in his forties beckoned some of his acquaintances and friends to act accordingly to the situation.

The bystanders walked towards Haseena coming between her and the thugs. She cuffed the peddler to the jeep and turned to see how the public, people whom she didn't even know by name had formed a wall between her and the members of the gang who were tailing her silently like preying cats.

"Maddam sir tak pahonchne se pehle humsey guzarna parega." Jalal said and the half a dozen people that had gathered with him seconded him. And not even the Silagaur family's thugs were stupid enough to kill those many civilians to harm Haseena. They slowly backed away and disappeared.

Haseena looked at the exchange and got emotional.

"Maddam sir aap chaliye." Jalal said. Haseena then remembered his face. He was the father of a girl she'd rescued after she was abducted.

"Shukriya par apna khyal rakhiyega. Humara toh kaam hai yeh ." She said with a gratuitous smile

"Aapne humare liye hum sab ke liye joh bhi karti hai, uskey aage yeh toh kuch bhi nahi hai Maddam sir." Jalal said.

"Hum bas humare farz nibha rahe hai." Haseena said.

"Yeh toh aapki badappan hai maddam sir. Hum sab aapke karzdaar hai." Jalal bid adieu and left.

Haseena left the courthouse with Latika. She felt emotional because of how people she didn't even recognise were ready to give their life to save hers. Unbeknownst to her, a person wearing black leather jacket was following her on her bullet with a determined look on her face.
