A/N:

Hey guys! This is the second book to Overcome!

If you haven't read Overcome yet I suggest you do so!

Thanks:)

I roll out of my bed and put on my Ariat breeches and Parlanti boots. I walk into my mom's room, like always, she's dressed and ready to go. I look over at the clock to see that it's seven am. "Hey" I smile. "I'm going to run down to the barn, then go to Two Trees for my interview."

"Okay, let me know if you need anything." My mom smiles as she checks her medical bag before she leaves.

I jog downstairs and grab my car keys. Turns out that Kent, my mom's boyfriend and number 3 Grand Prix rider in the world, knew a guy who knew a guy that was able to get me my drivers license even though I'm only 16.

I hop into the shinny, silver Volvo and start the engine. This used to be my boyfriend, Justin's car, but he moved back in with his parents and they got him a navy blue BMW.

The Volvo isn't the truck that I always wanted, but it was a car that can get me somewhere so I wasn't complaining.

Justin, I smile as I think of him. I check my watch one more time, I think he starts teaching at 8... or was it 9? I could never remember...

I pull into the barn parking lot to see Justin giving a lesson to older women who was bouncing around on Leo's killer trot. Oops, I think. I guess he started at 7...

"Hey" I wave as I walk by the arena. I know better than to interrupt him while he's in trainer mode. So instead I walk into the barn and put Harry, my bay Warmblood, on crossties and begin to groom him.

I'm just putting the saddle on when I see Justin walk into the barn. "Hey gorgeous, you finally get let out of the dog house?"

After my comeback a month ago, I told my mom my whole story and got grounded for a month. I was allowed to come here, but only once a week. On the other days, I was stuck at home doing a 7 hour homeschooling class to catch up on the year I missed. That was one of the deals. I can stay out of school as long as I continue to ride and I have to get homeschooled. Instead of complaining I worked ten times harder than I would ever with anything school related. But thankfully, I somehow worked hard enough and got all caught up in just a months time. Not bad right? "Yes! I'm finally a free women!"

He chuckles, "Your interview's today, right?"

I nod, "Yup, hopefully I won't fall on my face." I say knowing that it is a possibility.

"Nah, you'll be fine!" he squeezes me into a side hug. " I've got another lesson, want to meet up after your interview?"

"Of course!" I smile as I put on Harry's bridal. I walk him out to the front ring and note that Justin will use the first one for his lesson, so I turn to the right to ride in the jumper ring.

Harry frames his head the second my butt touches the saddle and power walks around the ring, ready for what I'm going to ask him.

**********************

I give Harry a long rein and let him walk out. I didn't sweat him so that I could be on time to my interview. The last thing I need is to get a bad rep of being late to important things. Just then I notice a familiar pair come walking into the ring.

Emily Adam riding her fairly new VDL horse, Ferris. A stocky liver chestnut with one small star on his head and a low sock on his hind right leg. She doesn't acknowledge me and trots off. I'm in awe as the horse floats his way around the ring. Too bad we hate each other, if we didn't I would compliment how good that horse makes her look. Yes, she did get a lot better from a year ago, but I saw her school one of the boarders horse's, and it wasn't pretty. But Ferris, he goes around like a machine, not batting a eye at anything, nor breaking gates. He looks like a perfect Hunter on flat, but I've seen that he wakes up a bit when the jumps come out. Which is fine, I like a horse that loves doing its job. I wish Emily would see that too.
