Lucas POV:
When I walked through my front door Gina was already there. She was sitting on the couch with her knees tucked into her chest and a blanket over her. Her hair was wet and she was too engulfed in whatever she was watching to notice me.
I drop all my stuff down on the wood floors and sit down right next to her. "What are you watching?" I ask.
Without looking away from the TV she says, "Vampire Diaries"
"You? Watching that?" I laugh.
She takes the pillow from behind her back and throws it at me, hitting me in the chest. "Shut up its actually really good!"
"Yeah okay" I laugh a little more. "I have to hop in the shower and then meet my grandparents for dinner. Do you want to come?"
"No, it's okay. I won't steal you from your family bonding time." She smiles at me.
I take a quick shower and throw clothes on and jog up the stairs where Gina now has a bowl of popcorn by her side otherwise nothing has changed. "You sure you don't want to come?" I ask.
"Positive." She looks away from the TV. "Tell them I said hi even though they don't know me!"
"Of course" I laugh as I walk out the door.
I sat in a booth for almost three hours talking about myself. I hated doing it... okay maybe not 'hate' but it gets boring after a while. But I have no other choice because if I don't talk we just sit here in awkward silence. I try to prompt them with a few questions but I usually get one word answers then back to silence. And I'd rather hear my own voice than nothing at all... oh no... I just realized... I'm turning into Emily.
Finally I was able to get out of there and back to the house. It's ten o'clock and I'm exhausted. All I want to do is crawl into my bed and sleep like there is no tomorrow.
I unlock the door and quietly walk inside, noticing the Gina is probably sleeping upstairs in her room since she's not on the couch anymore.
I walk downstairs into my room, switch on the light, and curse at the top of my lungs.
There's saran wrap everywhere. And when I say everywhere, I mean everywhere. Each shoe, clothing, my whole bed, everyone of my pillows all individually saran wrapped. My closet doors were saran wrapped on the outside and when I ripped at down and opened the doors I curse twenty more times. I opened drawers where every single individual sock was wrapped up and put back, underwear, t shirts, my entire life in this room was completely wrapped up like a present from hell.
I try to rip it off my off my bed so I could at least sleep there but she wrapped it in layers. Making it impossible to rip. Whatever, I'm not in the mood to deal with this today. There's like twenty other bedrooms in this house I can sleep there tonight.
I march up two flights of stairs still cursing under my breath. I walk into the first bedroom only to have my face suffocated in saran wrap. I rip it off and curse even more. I walk into the next room, trip over saran wrap on the bottom of the doorway and land with a thud on my ass.
I see her, silently laughing, and watching from the top of the stairs. "Oh you're dead." I get up, jump over the line of saran wrap in the door way and run up the flight of stairs, again, tripping and sliding down a couple steps when my waist came in contact with more saran wrap across the stairway.
She still stands, laughing her ass off at the top of the steps. I rip it down and run up the stairs again. This time I know there is nothing else because she starts to run down the hall, slipping in her socks on the wood floor, which allowed me to get closer to her. Just as she was about to run into her room I caught her by her waist and in one swift stroke, threw her over my shoulder and began my way back down the stairs.
She kept laughing until she realized where I was taking her. "Lucas" she warns. "I swear to god if you throw me in the pool..."
"You deserve it."
"No!" she says still laughing a little. "You don't want to do this!" She says when I reach the pool edge. I lift her up and am just about to launch her into the pool when she grabes onto my shoulders, using my momentum against me, sending us both into the pool.
I come up and she's still laughing. I actually laugh too. The whole situation was ridiculous. How did she even know that I was going to go into those other rooms. How did she even have time to get that all done? I congradulate her as we climb out of the pool. "I give you credit. You can really pull off a good prank."
She takes a bow, water droplets from her hair dripping onto the concrete, "Thank you, thank you very much."
She sat on the floor of my room reading a book while I cleaned all the saran wrap up. She read until three in the morning and got halfway through the book before she feel asleep. I got all of the saran wrap out of my room by four. I carry her up to her bed, tuck her in. Then finally get into my bed, laughing at who my best friend is.
