Chapter 29

"Are you okay?" I ask Maya when I saw her sitting alone on the bench.

She held his chest dahil sa pagkakagulat na nasa harapan niya ako. Her aura is different today, not the typical Maya that I'm always seeing. She looks happy all the time pero ngayon mukhang may nangyareng masama.

She smiled. "Wala."

I sigh. "You still has that habit, huh?"

"Ang ano?"

"About hiding what you really feel..." I emphasized and sit beside her.

My class is already done and hinihintay ko na lang ang driver ko. Trivan wouldn't come today because exam nila bukas and kailangan niyang mag-study. I hope we can video call each other later, kahit iyon lang.

"Kasi, wala naman talaga." she laugh.

I rolled my eyes and point my finger to her face. "Meron!"

She pulled my hair from the back a little. "Wala nga! Ang kulit!"

"Nagaway kayo 'no?" hula ko.

She rolled her eyes to me. "Hindi ka pa ba sanay? Araw-araw kami nagaaway."

"You're so maldita kasi!"

"Timing din kasi na maattitude rin siya..." natatawa niyang sabi.

"Pero, serious na nga! Don't hide your feelings everytime. You're confusing sometimes. Hindi namin alam kung kailan ka na galit o masaya because you're not showing your true feelings. I mean, you can talk to us whenever you two had a fight."

She look away but still smiling but I can see in her eyes na sobrang naapektohan siya sa sinabi ko. Sa amin kasi siya ang pinakamasikretong kaibigan. She won't tell you everything and just keep it in herself all the time na parang wala siyang kaibigan o pamilya man lang and I hate that habit of her.

"Hindi kay Nixon, okay?" she suddenly said, hindi na nakangiti ngayon at parang ang lalim ng iniisip.

My brows furrowed. "Then, who?"

She sigh heavily. "Wala... kay mama lang."

"Why? Your mom?"

She nodded. "Wala, ang laki lang ng pinagbago niya ngayon."

I nodded, pilit siyang iniintindi kahit hindi ko alamn kung anong ng nangyare kay tita. She's kind to us hindi nga lang kami masyadong nagkikita because of school and medyo malayo ang bahay nila pero nung elementary kami ay halos every weekend kami sa bahay nila. Her father knows how to play basketball kaya kinakantyawan talaga namin sila before ng mother niya.

I was about to talk when my phone ring kaya sinagot ko muna iyon. Maya didn't mind me at nagpatuloy lang sa pagiisip.

[Maam, nasa labas na po ako. Nasaan na kayo?]

"Palabas na ako, manong." I answered to my driver bago ibaba ang tawag.

I look at Maya and tap her shoulder. "My driver is already outside..."

She nodded. "Ingat."

Tumayo na ako. "You too. We are here for you." I smiled and wave my hand before I walk towards the gate.
