after the movie is over with we pile back into the car and make our way back to my house. my mom is still at work so no shopping still. her job has been low on employees for a little bit now, hopefully they get more nurses back.

I head upstairs to my room to pick up my things before they come into my room and make fun of me for having a messy room. kb races after me, the both of us struggling to get into my room. he rams himself into my door and falls to the floor as the door opens. he laughs hysterically standing up and taking a look around my messy room, "you thought you could clean this up in a few minutes?"

I slowly nod my head beginning to pick up the outfits I decided "no" on this morning. of course Jaxon has to make his way to see my brothers and greet my dad before he does anything. I use this time to straighten my room as best I can. by the time he's up here, kb and I are sitting on my bed watching tiktok together. I glance up at jaxon and I smile softly, "ello mate!"

he chuckles grabbing my chin and kissing my forehead, "hey princess, your room is clean. not to shabby."

kb rolls his eyes, making me laugh. as jaxon lays down on my bed I stand up heading into my closet, "alyssa, get back here."

"no, I have to pack my things for thanksgiving. you guys should be getting your stuff ready too. we're going to be there a whole week." I mumble pushing through my jeans, pulling out three pair of denim pants.

"when is our flight?" kb shouts to me.

"our plane takes off at 8pm," i say; "so you better be here at 6. both of you, no being late."

they both roll their eyes at me. i can't express how excited i am for this trip. every year is better, and i love spending time with my grandparents. i love cooking and baking with my grandpa too. this time of the year is always the best. its where all my childhood memories lie, its my comfort. it's going to be even better because I have a boyfriend now, and he gets to meet my whole family. of course I'm nervous, my family is meeting my boyfriend, but he's so easy to like, he'd have to do something horrible for them to hate him.

*few days later*

jasmine and I are both laying in my bed watching tiktoks in comfortable silence. this feels good, I love doing nothing with my best friend. my mom and dad are out with my brothers, taking them last minute shopping for our thanksgiving trip. we leave in three days, and I couldn't be more excited. jasmine and her family are coming too, its always our tradition. our families are like...one big family. my cousins are her cousins, and vice versa. she sits up looking over to me raising an eyebrow, "is jaxon coming to thanksgiving?"

I nod my head looking in her direction, "yesss, and so is kb."

she smiles widely, "aww that's so good! he's going to meet our family. since he and kb are coming...can Cameron come?"

wow, how do I tell her I don't want him to come? I don't hate him or anything, but I feel like him and jaxon still have some unfinished beef or something that will cause drama at the dinner. before I can even say anything she opens her mouth, "I know, I know. jax and him might not be on good terms-"

"with who?" jax comes walking through my door sitting a bag of raising canes on my desk. I smile widely kissing his cheek before going into the bag.

"ohh hey jax! we were just talking about-"

jax cuts jasmine off turning to me, "I seen you were here so I brought you two some lunch."

he's the sweetest. I open my box of food turning back to jasmine to let her finish her sentence. she scoffs looking at jax, "before I was rudely cut off. we were talking about if Cameron can come to thanksgiving with us."

jax looks at me and shrugs, "ion care."

I sigh looking back to jasmine, "okay, he can come. but the first sign of drama he's gone."

jasmine laughs nodding her head, she stands up coming to hug me and steals one of my chicken tenders, "thank you, thank you, thank you!!!"

I playfully roll my eyes looking back to jax, hes been so busy with work, its like I haven't seen him in years. he sits down on the floor by my feet and he pulls them into his lap.

"yo, I think i'ma quit."

my eyes widen, "what?! why??"

he shrugs continuing to rub my feet and my legs, "because I don't need it. I only got that job to spend more time with you, but now that you're my girlfriend, I don't need it."

my face blushes dark red, my cheeks are burning hot, "aww...okay baby. I guess that's valid. everyone is going to miss you though."

he chuckles pulling out his phone, his hand somehow still not leaving my foot. jasmine and I finish up our food. they recently opened a canes in our neighborhood so everyone's been getting it. we even had some for lunch at school last week. it's just something about the sauce they make. its slap yo momma good.

"oh hey, our lawyer said with that video evidence there's no reason to not convict Kyle. at least with conspiracy. so that's good." jax speaks up breaking the silence.

'okay, that's a relief. because the fact that most of his family is involved in this trial makes me feel like he's gonna win, or get off easily." I murmur. i'm still nervous to get up and testify against him in court but our court date is so far away, its after our Christmas break. so right before new year basically. things have been so stressful with this case, i'm ready for thanksgiving vacation.
