Chapter 17 Meeting the Brother

You stayed put letting your son sleep, you couldn't help but noticed just how tired he looked. The way he kept an iron grip on your shirt and his arm around you keeping him in position told you everything he felt while he away from you.

'My son ... Why did you join the Fatui..' you thought to yourself as you rested your head over his gently. You been told how the Fatui are and after experiencing them for yourself. You just couldn't believe your own Kunikuzushi would join them willingly. But after hearing his reasoning you felt guilty. It seemed you failed to notice that want of him from the beginning. Maybe if you noticed before, maybe you could've helped him in a different way and perhaps then he wouldn't have left you. Yet you still had a sense of pride.

Your Kunikuzushi ranked 6 of the Harbingers. Earned his spot all by himself. You smiled feeling proud your son was strong. Granted not the best or ideal group to be in but none the less his rank showed his position. I guess in a way Signora done you a favor taking you away like she did as she took you straight to your son. When in reality it only brought up a bigger question.

'How is Kunikuzushi going to react when I tell him about Zhongli and Khoi??' you wondered to yourself. Looking down at your sleeping child you decided to tell him after he rested and was awake. Only, you never had a chance too.

To say he has gotten more attached would be an understatement. It's as if he was a toddler again following you around like a duckling does to his mother. What's more he has gotten much more aggressive when it involves you. You stayed in his room with him during the night. During the day you were in his office sitting right where he can see you. Or sometimes he would sit on your lap snug while reviewing papers. Once you left his sights and he went crazy with panic. When he 'found' you he wouldn't let go of your arm for the rest of the day. Whenever you said you wanted to leave the base he quickly says it's not safe and when you do go outside he's clinging onto your arm looking around constantly. You could tell he has developed a sort of paranoia due to Dottore finding out about you. So you would quickly return to the base with him and he would calm down.

The people working at said base knew better than to disrespect you or worse bother you. They all knew how heartless the Balladeer is. Yet they still couldn't believe the sudden change of character whenever you happen to be present. Days went on like that. All while you kept trying to tell Kunikuzushi yet his work kept him very busy. So all you can do is hope you see them soon. At the moment you were sitting in his office reading a book as your son was reviewing some paperwork.

"Mom is the book to your liking?" You heard your son ask you as you looked up at him and smiled.

"Yes I like it. Thank you son" you said happy.

"Then I'll make sure to get you similar works" Kunikuzushi said as you saw him glance at the title and quickly scribble down something on a paper. You could only assume he wrote down the books title. You went back to your book till a knock was heard. You heard your son sigh annoyed and said to come in. The door opened to reveal a female in the Fatui uniform with long hair in two braided pigtails. Eyes were a sandy color you looked at her as she walked in to your son. She gave you a feeling. You kept watching her as she spoke.

"Sir Scaramouche. Im Zinna with the reports of the factory." The girl said.

"Hurry up what is it." You heard your son say impatiently.

"Everything ready to be delivered" the girl said as you saw your son get up quickly.

"About time! Now get out." He said coldly as she nodded and quickly left. You stayed looking at the door for a minute. Then you felt a tug on your sleeve. Looking over you saw Kunikuzushi holding onto your clothing with a grumpy face.
