Thanksgiving Plant - Patton Centric Fluff

Patton sighed softly at the sight of his roommates' bags in the living room, Virgil and their younger brother Janus had to go to their parents for Thanksgiving leaving Patton alone. He would hang out with the twins or Logan but they also had to go visit family and Remy was still mad at him for spilling their coffee this morning.

"Ok Patton, since me and Virgil will be gone until Sunday we wanted to give you a little friend to keep you company."

"You got me a dog!?!" Janus sighed at his excitable friend, "N-" Janus was cut off as Virgil entered the room with something behind their back. "No Pat it's not a dog, not yet anyway. We got you this little guy." Virgil held up a small plant and offered it to Patton. "The care instructions are on the list of reminders we gave you. If you want us to agree to a dog you have to prove you'll take care of it first, although my big sibling here probably wouldn't mind I don't want to take care of a dog." Virgil rolled their eyes. "I would mind actually, I already have Zero, I don't need to take care of a dog and a cat thank you very much."

"If Patton asked you to fly a plane for him you would try."
"What-! No!"
".."
"Maybe. But still-!"

Patton tuned out the friendly arguing between the two siblings and looked at his new green friend, it looked like your typical plant, green, lots of leaves, in the dirt, etc. Patton smiled softly and looked at the list of reminders he had been given, and, just like they said, the plant care instructions and name were right there. Apparently the two had gotten him a 'Parlor Palm', it didn't need a lot of light and it needed to be watered weekly. He looked at the two siblings again who had finished arguing and were now staring at him with varying expressions, Janus looking in the secretly curious way he did when he was trying to gauge someone's reaction and Virgil was looking at him like if he didn't like the plant they would burst into tears. Patton smiled at the two and set down his new friend.

"I love them, their name is Zuko, and if they die I will be devastated." Janus smiled and rolled his eyes while Virgil let out a sigh of relief. Patton then shoved the two out of their apartment and sighed. This was gonna be a lonely few days but at least he had a new friend.
