XG 180 - I have my own weapon

"Where are the others?!"

The poor guy flinched at the captain's angry face. "The... The others are coming... they just woke up..."

"Who are the 'they' you are talking about!"

"The... the guards!"

"What about the civilians?!"

The captain knew they had suffered quite a number of casualties, but there should be more people than those that have already gathered here! The emergency alarm had rung and everyone should have come over with their weapons to fight!

Did they think they can rely on the guards to do all the defending?!

Musihada laboratory only hired a hundred guards, but most of them had left their posts to find their families when the news of the outbreak was spread. There were some survivors that volunteered to take up guard posts, and the total barely could fill up half of the empty posts. They had not yet been given the chance to do a headcount, but the number they have now was not optimistic at all.

The young soldier does not want to be the one that shares the bad news and gets yelled at, but unfortunately, he was the one picked to do the report. "The civilians... most of them have left the base."

There were more empty spaces compared to this morning in Musihada land, as well as a visibly smaller number of survivors. With some asking around, they found out the other survivors left because of the attack earlier. It was not even one full day yet but what got them to confidently decide this base was dangerous and quickly leave?

They are just good at sniffing out dangers or are they just cowards?

Before the captain could go into a long, angry tirade, Wonyoung quickly cut in urgently. "Captain, now is not the time. We need to defend our base."

Even if the captain was angry, he had to place it aside now just like Wonyoung said. The survivors never promised anything, and he should not have expected something from them.

"Those that can still fight, have them report on duty!" It would be quite some time for those that had gone to rest to rejoin them. None of them had thought the enemy would attack them again in a short span of time, so most of them had gone to rest or were stuck at the sick bay, leaving only a small group of guards to remain on guard.

None of them had enough rest! Their flimsy wall had not yet been reinforced! They do not have enough ammo!

The captain silently offered a prayer to God, and vowed that if he survived this round, he would provide some offering to God!

Thanks to Mr Demon, who does not need sleep, Wong Xue Guo was trained to wake up at the smallest sound. The first second of the shrill emergency alarm that rang throughout the base was enough to have her wide awake and alert.

This was possibly the first time she was ready before Chen Yibo, and so she found herself in his family apartment, tactfully waiting for him in the living room.

His bedroom door was yet to be fixed, and honestly, she was unsure if he even had the idea of fixing the lock. With how infrequently his father and brother came back to the apartment, this place was Chen Yibo's territory most of the time.

"You can have my sword."

"There's no need. I have my own weapon."

Chen Yibo's slow blink of confusion was quite cute. "What weapon?"

"You will know once we get there. Let's hurry up, shall we?"

Without resistance, Chen Yibo was easily pulled along. His mind and body were still not in top shape from the gene activation process. Added to the earlier fight, not even Wong Xue Guo's energy boost could make him feel better.
