In her eighteen years of existence, Y/N Y/LN remembers hearing about the Jeju Island a couple of times, she remembers one of her teachers from primary school went there for vacations with her family and didn't shut up about it for nearly three weeks. She also remembers watching this really boring movie that was shot there and Sam from Chemistry class telling everyone how she met this really cute guy in her stay on the island, but specifically, she remembers hearing this one YouTuber describe it as a 'place where it seems you could get everything you want to have some really fun vacations'. In the day you have beautiful beaches to go for a swim or just enjoy the sun and good weather, and in the night it seems like a city that never sleeps with its amazing night-life and countless activities to do or parties to attend.

Now, if you came to the island for the right reasons, you would probably love it, but if you came for Y/N's reasons, then you would definitely hate it as much as she does.

The girl had spent her life among fancy houses, cars and luxuries, enjoying unlimited parties and bonfires by the sea (where there was definitely more drinking than recommended), so no, moving to the other side of the world to attend a boarding school as a punishment was definitely not her scene.

When she arrived at the place, the teenager couldn't help but roll her eyes. The building was such a cliché, it looked like every school ever shown in any K-drama.

The walk from the main entrance of the building to the left wing, where the rooms were located, allowed her to confirm her theory that this would be the most boring year of her life.

"Gosh, this looks like a prison. But that would be an insult to prisons." The girl commented as she looked at the surrounding architecture.

She decided not to comment on the shameless stares she was getting from people passing through the place. She knew she was hot after all.

The girl let out a heavy sigh as she paused in front of the door of what would be her room for the entire year.

"Well, I guess I'll see you at my graduation." The girl said as she pulled from her pocket the card that opened the door.

"I'll walk you to the office." Y/N rolled her eyes at the statement.

"Are you planning to take me by the hand too, father?" she replied sarcastically as she opened the door.

The room was boring.

It had a bed by the wall, a desk by the window, and the walls were completely white.

"Well, this is depressing." Mumbled the girl.

Opening the door that was in the wall opposite her bed, she found a small walk-in closet that connected the room to the bathroom.

"Is not that bad." Commented Howard, her father.

"It's all so white, it looks like a madhouse." Y/N replied after dropping her suitcases in a corner. "I need a TV, and a mini fridge."

"Use it with caution." Said her father after handing her a credit card while giving her a stern look. "And for things that you really need."

Y/N smiled internally as she saw her name engraved on the piece of plastic.

"What am I going to do, buy myself a boat to escape this island?"

"That sounds exactly like something you would do."

"You're wrong. I would possibly buy a yacht, or a jet ski, you know, more speed."

Her dad could only wish that she was actually joking about that one.

"Let's go now, I want to personally introduce myself to your director."

Y/N woke up somewhat disoriented. When she opened her eyes, she was confronted with a wall that was very different from her room at Pacific Palisades in California, and it took her several seconds to remember that she was in N.J International Boarding School.
