"Hello?" Y/N answered the phone, curiosity piqued by her father's unexpected call.

"Hey, Y/N," her dad greeted her from the other end of the line.

"Hi, why are you calling?" Y/N asked, slightly puzzled.

"I, uhm..." her dad hesitated, causing Y/N's brow to furrow. "I received a call yesterday."

"Okay?" Y/N replied, getting up from her bed where she was enjoying a movie night with her best friends. "I didn't do anything, did I?"

"No, no. It's not like that," Howard reassured her, his voice tinged with unease. "It's - It was about your mom."

Y/N's breath caught in her throat. It had been years since she had heard anything about her.

"I received a call-" the man started explaining, but was interrupted by his daughter.

"I don't care," Y/N replied angrily, cutting him off.

"Y/N, this is serious," her father insisted.

"I said I don't care," Y/N retorted, her voice filled with anger and frustration. "That woman is not my mother."

With those final words, Y/N abruptly ended the call, her emotions overwhelming her. The wounds of her past and the resentment she carried towards her absent mother resurfaced, leaving her with a sense of bitterness and rejection. But it was nothing compared with the hatred she felt towards her.

"Y/N, are you okay?" Yuna's sweet voice asked, bringing her attention back to the present. Her two best friends, Yuna and Jennifer, were looking at her with genuine concern.

"Yeah," Y/N nodded her head, trying to compose herself.

"What was that about?" Jennifer asked, her voice filled with curiosity.

"My dad mentioned that he received a call about Sarah," Y/N explained, taking a seat on her desk chair.

"But I thought you didn't have any contact with her?," Yuna interjected, her brows furrowing with confusion. They were the only ones who knew a little about Y/N's past, but the details were scarce since Y/N preferred not to talk about it.

"We don't," Y/N replied, her tone tinged with a mix of bitterness and uncertainty.

"So maybe it was important?" Yunjin said.

"I couldn't care less," Y/N replied sharply.

After that unsettling call, Y/N found herself on edge, unable to shake off the lingering thoughts and emotions it had stirred within her. Her dad's repeated inquiries and insistence on discussing the call only added to her growing unease. It seemed as though her mind was constantly preoccupied, causing her to zone out during classes and lose focus on her studies.

Y/N's temper, usually calm and collected, had become noticeably shorter. Little things that she would normally brush off now irked her, and her patience wore thin easily.

"Y/LN! If you're here to fight, then you better get off my field!" Y/N's soccer coach bellowed in frustration after the teenager had pushed a teammate who accidentally fouled her. Frustrated and annoyed, Y/N let out a groan before making her way off the field and into the locker rooms. The tension from the incident still lingered as she tried to find some solace in the quiet space.

Seeking a moment of respite, Y/N opened her locker and retrieved her cellphone, only to find it ringing persistently. The sound grated on her nerves, intensifying her frustration. In a fit of anger, she answered the call, unable to contain her rage any longer.

"Jesus Christ! Would you please stop calling?!" Y/N yelled into the phone, her voice laced with raw emotions. "Can't you understand that I don't want to know anything about the woman who abandoned me when I was a kid? I don't fucking care about her!"
