Dani's Idea

It was lunchtime at the school cafeteria, and Y/N and her friends were seated at a large table with the members of the student body council. The atmosphere was jovial, and everyone was engaged in a pleasant conversation while enjoying their meals.

Despite being known for her reserved nature, even Haerin, who was sitting at the end of the table, had contributed a few words to the discussion. The table was buzzing with laughter and good vibes, and it was evident that everyone was having a great time. 

Danielle's face lit up as she suddenly had an idea. "Hey guys, what if we all go to the cinema this weekend? There's a new movie out, and I heard it's fantastic," she suggested, looking around the table. 

Yuna's eyes widened in excitement, "That sounds like fun! I'm definitely in!" she exclaimed. 

The rest of the group nodded in agreement, and soon they were all making plans to meet up after school on Friday. Danielle couldn't help but feel proud of herself for coming up with such a great idea. She really had fun when all of them got together, Y/N, Jennifer, and Hussey were definitely a fun trio. 

Minji noticed that Y/N was yawning, so she asked why. To which Y/N replied that she might have stayed playing video games until late. And also, Tokki had cried in the middle of the night, but she couldn't tell her that. 

"But don't scold me. I've been behaving, I just wanted to play a little." 

The girl said and left her head resting on Minji's shoulder. 

"You smell good," Y/N said without thinking, making the other blush slightly. 

"Gosh, why are you so cute?" Y/N whispered while she was lying on her bed with Tokki lying between her arms. 

As a child, Y/N always wanted a pet, but her mom forbade her from having one because she didn't like them and said they were too messy. Her father always followed her mom's lead, so Y/N never knew what it was like to have a pet. 

And then as a teenager, Y/N's rebellious phase made it impossible for her to have one. She was barely home, always out drinking and getting high with her friends, getting herself into trouble, or making out with people she didn't care about. She was too caught up in her own world to consider taking care of another living being.

But despite her wild behavior, there was still a part of Y/N that longed for a pet. She would often find herself admiring dogs in the park, or feeling a pang of jealousy when she saw her friends with their furry companions. But every time she thought about getting one, she would dismiss the idea, knowing that she wouldn't be able to give it the love and care it deserved. 

How could she when she didn't know how? Love and care was something she never had. 

The American was brought out of her thoughts when her phone started ringing. She checked the caller ID and rolled her eyes because it was her dad. He only called when she was in trouble. 

Reluctantly, she answered the call. "Hey, Father," she said, trying to sound casual.

"Did you buy a dog?" He asked right away. 

"What are you talking about?" There's no way he could know. Had anyone seen Tokki and reported it to the principal? But she would've known by now. 

"I got the credit card receipt. You've been buying dog food, medicine, toys."
