Chapter 4

It was the morning of the expedition. The bells at the gate were ringing, the commander was giving his speech before the gates opened.

"The 23rd expedition vetoing the walls now begins! Advance!" The commander shouted as everyone rushed through the gate.

It was a beautiful sunny day, the rays of sunlight beamed through the clouds making the sky glow.

Birds flew above us, I looked at Levi, Furlan and Isabel to see them completely captivated by the view. I couldn't blame them, it had been awhile since the scenery was this beautiful.

I found myself staring at Levi, specially the expression on his face. I couldn't take my eyes off him, he was just... stunning.

I was pulled back to reality by a member of Flagen's squad shouting at the three to stay alert.

I decided I should do the same instead of staring at someone.

"Titan spotted! One 15 meter ahead to the right!" Someone shouted, "two 10 meter ones from the rear too!"

"We fight back! Switch to odm gear!" The commander shouted.

Me and Flagen were up front meaning the 15 meter was close to us. Some soldiers were trying to kill it already, but unfortunately got caught in its mouth.

"Dammit." I said jumping off his horse.

I flew towards the titan before cutting its nape with a single slice. I landed back on my horse to see the 10 meters catching up with Flagen's squad from behind.

"Shit-" I said.

"You guys stay where you are!" Flagen yelled.

Ignoring Flagen's words, Levi doubled back. Isabel and Furlan doubled back after him. Levi killed one titan, Isabel and Furlan took down the other.

For their first time even seeing a titan, they did pretty well.

"Squad leader they-" one of Flagen's squad members said.

"Yeah, I know why Erwin insisted on recruiting them now." Flagen said.

"I'll say this, you moved well for your first battle." Erwin said approaching the trio, "But you used too much gas, pay attention to that."

I took the opportunity to break away from the group. I rode a good distance away before getting off my horse.

I knew nobody would look for me, they thought randomly disappearing was one of my 'bad habits'.

I sliced my hand with my sword, with a flash of lighting I transformed into a titan. It began raining heavily soon enough, I knew I could use the rain as cover.

I found a group of soldiers, and slaughtered them. The ground was painted crimson red, severed body parts scattered amongst the grass like forbidden flowers.
