Chapter 7

I found Mike and Erwin.

"What happened?!" I asked gesturing to Mike.

"The moon titan got him." Erwin said.

Soon enough everyone regrouped and began the journey home. On the way very little titans showed up, we rode far into the night and got back to HQ just as it started raining.

It was late, really late. After packing everything away, everyone went to their rooms to call it a night.

I however wasn't as tired as everyone else since on our way back I shared a horse with Levi due to killing mine.

I ended up falling asleep on him and slept for most of the ride. I went to my office and sat down on my chair exhausted.

By this time my titan marks had faded so I took my mask off.

It began storming outside, heavy rain, rolls of thunder, flashes of lightning. A very bad storm.

Erwin came into my office carrying a stack of papers.

"Oh you're still up?" He said when he opened the door.

"You thought I wouldn't be? You were gonna come into my office while I was sleeping? That's creepy Erwin." I replied.

"Can you fill these out? It's the list of missing soldiers from this expedition. I need you to tick off anyone you've seen dead so we can confirm they are. I also need you to do your report."

I nodded, "get them back to you in the morning?"

"You read my mind." He said putting the papers on my desk.

I began going through the paperwork. I ticked off many names to confirm dead soldiers, I knew because I had killed most of them.

Once I was finished, I moved onto my report. The small oil lamp on my desk filled the room with a warm, calming atmosphere.

I felt my eyes growing heavy, I laid my head on the table and closed my eyes. I was just resting but ended up falling asleep at my desk instead.

I woke up to my door opening. I sat up tiredly and rubbed my eyes.

"...Ash?"

"Hm..?" I hummed looking up.

I saw Levi stood in the doorway soaking wet, looking at the floor.

"Oh my god, Levi-" I said getting up and grabbing a towel.

I walked to him and wrapped him up with the towel.

"Did you run here in the rain?! What are you doing?!" I asked.

"Can I stay here tonight?" He asked quietly.

I nodded, "yeah, come in and I'll get you some dry clothes."

I sat him down on a chair and went through my wardrobe getting him a white t-shirt and some grey pajama bottoms.

I walked back to him and gave him them. He refused to look at me.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Your mask.."

I realized I didn't have it on, that's why Levi had been avoiding looking at my face. I grabbed it from my desk and put it on.

"Go to the bathroom to change." I said.

He nodded, got up and went into the bathroom connected to my room. I went to my wardrobe and got out a grey t-shirt and black bottoms.

I took off my jacket, then my hoodie laying them across the back of the chair. I took off my white uniform leggings replacing them with my black pajama bottoms.
