Chapter 40

(A/N: Just posed a short story called 'The last day on Earth' since it's officially been a year since I created Ash!)

"Levi!" I yelled as I got back to Hq.

I ran directly into his arms and hugged him tightly.

"Ash! What happened to you?!"

I thought for a moment then remembered what Grisha had said 'Whatever you do, don't tell anyone what happened here.'

"I got sold to this wealthy family but I managed to escape without killing anyone."

"Okay, well you need to suit up right now." He said pushing me in the direction of our room, "Shiganshina and Wall Maria has fallen."

"What?! Okay I'll get my gear." I said before running to my room.

I quickly changed into my uniform, put on one of my own masks then hooked up my odm rig. I rushed back downstairs then began riding to the front lines.

In the panic I couldn't find my horse so I got onto Levi's with him. It was nighttime so any titans would have stopped moving.

By the time we reached wall Maria the sun was almost up.

"What exactly happened?" I asked Levi.

"The colossal and armored titans broke both gates in Shiganshina district. All other outliner districts have been called a lost cause, refugees from Shiganshina and Wall Maria have flooded into Wall Rose."

"The Armored and Colossal?" I muttered, "Why are they here?"

I thought for a moment then found the conclusion.

"They think I'm dead!" I yelled, "So they sent them to recover the founder!"

"Do you know the identities of the titans?"

"No, the holders of the Armored and Colossal I knew in Marley will be dead now. They will definitely be children though, aged 10-12."

"Alright, we need to report that after we're done here."

I nodded then buried my face in the back of his neck as we rode through the gate leaving Wall Rose and going into Wall Maria.

So far there weren't any titans, but as we neared Shiganshina the amount increased and increased.

"I'm tired so I don't think I'll be much help." I said to Levi.

"That's fine, just do what you can."

"We should get married when this shit is over."

"Good idea." He said.

As we neared a city, lots of titans were spotted.

"Okay, Ash we need to slow the titans and get any civilians out of there."

"I know, I know." I said standing up on the back of the horse.

After a few hours, we were told to retreat. There were too many injured and by the time it turned night again most had died anyway. I reported what I knew about the armored and colossal.

As soon as we were home I collapsed onto the bed.

"Ash." Levi said climbing on my back.

"What?" I mumbled into the pillow.

"I think I grew a bit."

"I doubt that. In all the years I've known you, you haven't grown at all."

"No seriously, I'm tall."

"No, you're really short."

"Put some inches in me then~"

I turned my head and looked at him, "You set that up didn't you?"
