Chapter 24

I woke up the next morning right on time. I got dressed into my uniform and settled my mask on my face.

I made my way down to the canteen for breakfast, then out to the training grounds. I began walking with Hange and Levi down to the training forest.

When we arrived there, we began weaving through the trees and made our way to the far end of the forest, the end where nobody was.

When we were finally at the end of the forest we landed on the ground.

"If you go near my nape be careful because my human body is there." I said before transforming.

I kneeled down on the ground then looked at Hange, waiting for her to do something. She climbed up a tree to be at a similar level to me.

Hange had a clipboard to write stuff down on.

"Can you understand me?" She yelled.

I nodded.

"Can you speak?"

I shook my head.

"Try."

I tried to talk but all that came out were weird titan noises and grunts. I frowned then looked back at Hange.

I felt Levi land on my shoulder then settle himself in the dip of my collar bone near my neck.

I lifted my hand and picked him up. I held him in one hand and pet him using a finger from the other.

"Can you feel us on you?" Hange asked landing on my shoulder.

I nodded as I put Levi back on my collar and looked at Hange as she moved back to a tree. I wanted her intently as she thought of her next question.

A third eyelid slid sideways over my eye as I watched her. Hange gasped as she saw it.

"What's that for?!" She yelled, "Is it to protect your eyes from steam?"

I nodded, that's the exact reason.

"Does your human form have it?"

I shook my head.

"Does steam get in your eyes when you're in human form?"

I nodded sadly.

"Alright, I want to see your range of movements, get up." Hange announced.

I stood up and watched as she began doing odd movements. I picked Levi up and moved him onto the tree so he wouldn't fall off then started trying to copy her.

Eventually it got too awkward and I looked stupid, so I just stood and stared at her.

"Can I see how your body's fused to your titan?"

I nodded and sat down. Hange landed on my nape and carefully began dissecting it. It hurt but I kept as still as possible.

"Wow it really is normal colored on the inside.." she muttered as she reached my body.

I was laid face down in the titan, the muscles attaching to me. Hange began slowly cutting the muscles away seeing how my body was connected to it.

Levi was also on my nape watching intently. As she lifted my arm up out of the titan the muscles surrounding it reached up to try and fuse to it again.

Hange put my arm back down then looked at my face and how the muscles were attached to it. My eyes were half open, it was probably kind of creepy.

"Ash change to your human body." She said.

I did and looked at her.

"Does it hurt?"

"No, it's warm." I said, muffled by the muscles.
