"hey im bianca! you must be my new roomie" a girl with dazzling blue eyes says to me. "oh hi! im y/n". bianca gives me a quick tour of the school, and then leaves me alone in the dorm to pack away my things and get settled in.
a couple of hours later, she comes back and starts pulling things out of her closet.
"hey, im going to fencing practice, would you like to come?"
"sure!" i say, even though i have never fenced in my life.
we arrive early, and the coach takes me to get changed and find some equipment. once i am ready, however, i spot bianca fencing against someone else. "shit." i think, realising i will have to partner with someone i don't know. i walk back to the coach, unsure of what to do.
"ah y/n, perfect! this is rowan, you can partner with him today." he says, gesturing to a masked boy standing awkwardly next to him. great.
we make our way over to an empty spot, and start practicing. he instantly can tell i am new to this, but helps me learn. we even end up having a proper match, however i panic, and his blade goes flying. he stands still for a very long moment, before saying,
"do you have telekinesis?"
i laugh nervously. "not sure you can call it that, its more like a curse because of how uncontrollable it is"
he stays silent for a minute longer, and goes and picks up his strewn blade.
"meet me in the library at 9:30 tonight" he says, walking out.
