i don't see rowan for the next couple days. i hate to say it, but i am disappointed. bianca seems to notice, and asks whats wrong.
"i don't know" i say, exasperated.
"is it because of rowan?" she says teasingly. but when i don't deny it, she looks genuinely concerned. "y/n. you can't like him. hes an outcast of outcasts. somethings off with him, hes weird."
"i don't like him!!" i say, convincing no one. bianca sighs.
"look, hes xaviers roomie. ill ask about him for you if you really want." my eyes light up.

a couple of minutes later, bianca gets a reply. "xavier says that rowan is fine." she says, looking up at me. i cross my eyebrows. she laughs.
"he said that hes never had a girlfriend, let alone spoken to a girl. apparently hes spoken to xavier about you." my eyes light up again. "what did he say??"
"you really are making it obvious aren't you. he just told xavier that he was going to the library to meet you, no other details, very vague." i feel disappointed.
"why hasn't he been in class though?" i ask, genuinely concerned.
"what? he has!" she says, bewildered. "which ones? i didn't see him."
"he's in all of our classes. he is a bit invisible though, i guess. he's a weirdo."

going into class the next day, i notice bianca is right. he sits directly behind me. of course. i end up turning around half way through the lesson, and he looks directly into my eyes. i instantly go a vibrant shade of fuchsia, and turn around. not quick enough though, as it seems bianca caught the moment.

"so.. rowan, huh??" she says, with a teasing grin. "i dont know what you are talking about" i reply, acting nonchalant, though inside my heart was beating fast. was it that obvious? "you are allowed to like him you know" bianca reassures me "not your best decision, but at least no one else will get in your way."

she was very wrong with that last statement. the next day a new girl joined. before she even joined any classes, rumour had already spread that she had murdered someone from her old school. i first meet her in miss thornhills class. as soon as she walked in, everyones heads turned. she was dressed in the uniform, but as if it had come out of a 1950s tv show. to be honest, it looked very good. she was extremely pretty in a dead looking way, so when i turned to see rowan staring at her, i wasnt surprised. still, it felt like my heart had shattered.

bianca seem to notice this, like she notices everything, so she asks to partner with rowan during fencing. he seems reluctant, but the coach insists it will be good for him to practice. he looks over at me, giving me an apologetic smile, but i just look away.

it turns out bianca battling rowan is slightly amusing, as she is so much better than him. thats when she walks in. wednesday addams. of course, she is in a black fencing suit, contrasting against everyone else in white, making her hard to miss. it seems rowan noticed too, as as soon as she walked into the hall, he falls on the floor. As if it couldnt get any worse, wednesday walks over and requests a match against bianca. they end up fighting until first who draws blood wins, yet when bianca wins, i cant be happy. i dont hate her. i have nothing to hate her for.
