of course, dances aren't really our thing, it being so full of people. so, once people finally get used to seeing us together we manage to slip off to the woods. i have my phone on me, so we plan to be back right before the dance finishes, so that no one will realise we snuck out.

a while in, we hear a scream. we stop dead, staring at each other in silence. then, the sound of running. other people in the woods. we couldn't figure out where the scream came from, but knew for a fact it was that monster. we take off running back to the school, terrified. the dance, however, is empty. and red. what the hell happened. the school is eerily quiet, so we rush up the stairs, trying to find other people. so, you can imagine our relief when we barged into my room and found bianca. and our confusion when we found xavier sitting next to her. we slowly back out of the room, not wanting to interrupt and make anything awkward, and head over to rowans dorm. after all - it is empty. we both go sit on his bed, still in slight shock of what happened. i think about how stupid it was - getting terrified that no one was in the dance and how irrational my thoughts got, and we both start giggling.

i look him in the eye, and our lips connected once again, my body pressing against his. he deepens the kiss, and we end up making out.

the next morning.
i wake up, tangled in rowans arms. i rub my eyes, and remember what happened last night. my eyes widen and i throw my head into the pillow. this wakes him up, and i make awkward eye contact with him as he remembers what happened last night. he laughs at my embarrassed face, instantly relieving the tension, and pulls me in for a cuddle.
