I would be wearing Harley's clothes once again. I found them neatly folded on top of me when I woke up this morning. I waited a long while before the boys cleared the bathroom so I could take a shower. As the water ran down my face and through my hair, I felt a sense of relief. This moment to myself was all I needed to clear my head. That was until the door opened with a loud bang and I could hear someone barging in.
"Zander get out of there!"
"I forgot to brush my teeth!"
I'm so glad the shower curtain wasn't see through. Yet I'm still covering my body as if it were. I hear the faucet run and the scrub of teeth coming from the other side.
"Hey! Go brush downstairs Romee is taking a shower." I hear Flynn say. "You can't just open the door on people."
Zander mumbles something I can't comprehend.
"Lil bro is trying to take a peak." Ricky laughs.
Okay so is everyone in the bathroom now?
"Guys a little privacy please?" I shout.
"You heard the boss come on."
After a moment I hear their footsteps quiet when the door closes. I guess my moment of relief was really only for a moment.
I finish my shower and change into my new style of wardrobe. Downstairs it's the usual chaos I'm bombarded with. Zander is eating cereal with Ricky. Collin is getting the car started outside and Flynn is...absent.
Why do I keep searching for him? As if he cares where I am or what I am doing.
"How was the shower?" Ricky hollers from across the table.
"More crowded than I had hoped." I sigh.
"You'll get used to it." He laughs. "Collins waiting on us."
"What about Zander?" I subconsciously think out loud.
"Flynn's going to walk him down to the bus stop. He's in the garage right now."
I follow Ricky outside and spot Flynn leaning over the hood of his car as it sits in the driveway. The morning sun reflects light off of his shiny red paint. He wears a white tee and a blue flannel smudged with oil. I don't realize until it's too late, I am fawning over him.
He looks up and smiles.
"See you Flynn! Oh and what's for dinner tonight?" Ricky shouts.
"Don't fucking ask me like I know." He responds.
"What about burgers?" I say.
Flynn stands up straight and wipes his hands. "I think we can make that happen."
"Yes I fucking love burgers." Ricky tells me. I continue to make my way towards Collins car before Flynn calls my name.
"Romee."
I turn my heel back around. "Flynn."
His smile grows bigger. "I'll see you later."
"Maybe." I shrug.
I imagine him shaking his head.
