Jonathan was taking Will and Jane to a concert. A dumb, time consuming concert. Jane was supposed to go with Max before she canceled due to unfinished business, code for a date with Lucas.

Will had never hated her more. Max had apologized profusely to both of them– mostly to Will however because she knew he'd be dragged into going with his sister.

So there they were now, getting out of the car.

"I'll be here at 11, don't go wandering around please! And if you can't help yourselves, don't go alone. Don't do anything stupid, and have fun. Take care."

With that, Will and Jane were now entering the doors. Surprisingly their seats were very close to the stage. The tickets were a gift for Jane's 17th birthday. Will didn't know much about the band but his sister loved them. She had a lot of their records and would always hear them on the radio.

He looked over at Jane who was eagerly staring at the stage. Looking around, he started to feel a little self-conscious. There were a lot of people there, a full stadium.

"So," he turned to face Jane, "How long until they start playing?" He asks, hoping to be heard over the huge crowd of people taking all over.

"Any minute now" She says, smiling widely at him. She wraps her arm around his tugging him nearer, "I think we got the best spot– look you can see their poster." She pointed to a poster on the stage.

Wills never had the best eyes so he can only see the words ''Freaks and Geeks' ' on it, not being able to make up any faces on the banner.

"Nice band name." He smiles to himself.

"No time for your sarcasm Will. They're really good, you know? If you give them a chance you might be surprised."

"I know they're not bad if they caught your eye Jane– especially Max. There is no impressing that girl." Jane shook her head agreeing.

"Who's in the band?" Will asks, trying to lighten the mood a bit. It's his sister's birthday– and she chose to spend it with him. He should be able to control his attitude for a night, he thought.

"Well there's Eddie Munson, he plays the guitar, uhh Robin– cant remember her last name right now– plays the drums, Dusty H. who plays the..."
"Keyboard?" Will asks as he sees workers setting up the stage in front of them.

"Ah yes! Then there's Steve Harrington who plays the bass– Jonathan really took a liking towards him– and finally Mike who's the lead singer." She says all giddy and shy.

"Just Mike? No last name?" Will questions as Jane starts to make her thinking face.

"No, I guess he doesn't, every magazine I've read never says anything about his last name."

He nods and smiles at his sister's excitement. His mood lightens up as she continues to talk about the band when suddenly the lights begin to dim.

The crowd behind and in front of the siblings begin to scream and Will once again becomes very shy. He gets up from his chair as Jane sprints from hers and begins to yell as well. He can't say he doesn't understand them, he remembers when his friend group from when he was in middle school used to be when the ghostbusters movie was announced. Nothing could shut them up.

He saw someone walk to the front while the others started to get in their positions.

"thank you all so much for coming here tonight, it's so great to be playing near my hometown– hope you enjoy the show!"
