Chapter 7 : You have been on my mind

When the two were walking back to Nevermore, Xavier started to feel a bit anxious.

- " Are you okay? Did i do something wrong?" She asked the boy, holding his hand.

- "No, of course not, the date was perfect, it's just that i remebered that my dad was coming tomorrow for his annual check up" Xavier frowned, "He comes every year just to paye the school and to make sure i didn't do anything wrong, as if he cares"

Y/N didn't really know what to say, she had a pretty good relationship with her father.

- " We could run away if you want or i could stay by your side all day, if that helps ?"

The boy nodded, "I would like that, thank you Y/N".

Once they arrived at the door to Y/N dorm, she was about to enter her room but she kissed Xavier on the cheek, "See you tomorrow, come get me when he's here" She smiled and entered her room, closing the door behind her not looking at a flustered Xavier.

She was lucky Enid was having a sleeping over in her friend's room, Y/N didn't want to share about her date for now.

She spent the rest of the night, reading and doing homework.

When she got tired, she went to bed and received a message from Xavier.

X : Thank for today and for the kiss <3

She smiled and replied with just a heart, she then got comfortable and fell asleep.

The next day, she got up early and got dressed quickly in case Xavier would come to get her early. She wanted a few hours but no news, she decides to text him but he didn't answer. When it turned three in the afternoon, She went to  his room and knocked but there was no answer.

She went to Ajax's room, and Xavier wasn't there neither. The girl was confused.

- "Do you have any idea where he could be ? "  She asked Ajax.

He thought for a minute, " Maybe in that abandonned shed, he likes to go there to paint. Try there"

The girl nodded and walked to the shed. She stopped in front of the door, "Xavier?" She called out when she heard a noise inside. A few seconds later, he opened the door with puffy eyes, he had been crying.

Y/N hugged him, "Sorry i didn't find you sooner" She looked up to face him, "He didn't come did he ?" 

Xavier shaked his head no, "I should've told you, sorry.."

The girl kissed his cheek again trying to make him feel better, which worked.

She then looked around the shed and saw paintings of a monster scattered everywhere but also, a portrait of her.  The boy blushed, "I paint whatever comes to mind and lately i have been thinking a lot about.. you" He admitted.

- " Xavier, it's beautiful" She was flattered, " And to be honest, you have been on my mind a lot aswell"

The boy put a hand on her cheek, "Can i kiss you?" He asked while caressing her cheek. 

She nodded slightly and took a step forward, putting her lips on his. The kiss was brief but was one to remember.

They both now looked at each other in the eyes, smiling.

They spent the rest of the day, walking in the woods and talking about themselves.
Y/N explained how her mother died because she had lost her mind, Xavier talked about how he hated his dad but also how he missed him.

Little did they know, an unknown creature was stalking them from a distance before running away.
