It's been a week since the sleepover.

Gene avoids Ein like he's a wild animal or something.

But I don't really care. Tomorrow is Halloween! I'm so excited!

Yesterday, the principal had an assembly.

"As you know we held a vote for no uniform, or keeping the uniform. The votes have been counted. From now on, Phoenix Drop High does not have a required uniform!"

Those last words were met with a loud cheer from most of the students.

"Ninety percent of the students who voted, voted for no uniform. So, starting tomorrow, you may wear whatever you want, as long as it is appropriate. Also, all of the teachers will be wearing halloween costumes tomorrow. You are all dismissed. Now go home!"

The principal waved her arms at us. We all went out the door.

    "Eli!" I heard my name.

I turned to see Ein running toward me.

"Eli...w-will you go on a d-date with me?" he asked me.

    "Yes." I smiled at him.

"And just to let you know, you're cute when you stutter."

    He blushed.

    "Tonight? At 5:00?"

    I nodded.

    "I'll pick you up. Bye!"

He smiled at me. I ran home.

When I got home, I put on a stainless pair of jeans, a blue T-shirt, and a dark blue jacket. To finish, I grabbed a pair of black sneakers.

At 5:00, I heard a knock at the door. I raced downstairs, but to my horror, my mother opened the door.

    "Yes?" she asked Ein.

"I'm here to pick Eli up. Is she here?"

    "Pick her up for what?"

"For our date. We agreed on 5:00. So I came to pick her up."

I could tell Mom was fuming.

"My daughter is not going on any dates! I won't-"

    "Hey Ein! You're here!"

I ran towards Ein, grabbing his hand. We ran together, away from my mother's angry screams.

"Sorry about her. Where are we going?" I asked Ein, after we turned the corner out of Mom's sight.

"I was thinking we could have dinner." He looked at me.

    "You look beautiful," he said.

    I tilted my head, confused.

"Uh, this is my everyday wear." I told him. We started walking. Ein stopped in front of a fancy restaurant. We walked inside.

"A table for two." Ein told the waiter. He guided us to a candle lit table.

I looked down at the menu. It was all fancy squiggles to me.

"Ein, can you read this?" I whispered to Ein.

"No, can you?" he whispered back. I shook my head. The waiter walked up to us.

"Hello, may I take your orders?" he asked.

"Do you have pizza?" Ein asked.

"No...can you not read the menu?" We both shook our heads. The waiter laughed.

"Ah, then I will get you the couples special. My boss told me to give it to the first couple that couldn't read the menu. For free of course."

Ein and I looked at each other. I shrugged. We gave him the menus back and he walked away. We talked about random things for a while.

After a little bit, the waiter came back with a pot full of noodles. He put the pot on the table, then left. We glanced down.

"That's a lot of noodles." I stated. We forked noodles into our mouths until one end of a single noodle was in each of our mouths. We both blushed.

Then Ein started to slurp the noodle into his mouth. I did the same. We met in the middle, our lips connected.

The noodle broke and we pulled away.

"Bravo! That was a good one!"

We spun to see the waiter watching us.

I was just so glad that there was no one else in the restaurant.
