"Eli. Eli. Eli. Eli. Eli." Ein was saying my name, while slightly shaking me. I cracked my eyes open. "Wake up. Eli, wake up. Eli. Wake up!" I slowly sat up. "What?" I asked. Ein was sitting next to me, holding my shoulders, shaking me. He stopped shaking me when I sat up, but he did not let go of my shoulders. "It's. Time. To. Wake up." he said. I smiled and leaned back, making sure Ein was still holding on. "I don't wanna." I said. He pulled me back up. "You will make me bacon." he told me. "And eggs. And toast. And cupcakes." I laughed as he listed all the things he wanted. "I will not make cupcakes, but I will make the other foods." I said. He smiled, tilting his head. "Why no cupcakes?" he asked in a baby voice. "Because cupcakes take a long time to make." I replied in the same baby voice. "Okay, but make sure there's lots of bacon!" he said. I rolled off the bed onto the floor, and crawled into the kitchen. I put the bacon on the stove, and cracked eggs into a bowl. Ein slowly shuffled into the kitchen, with Crystal clinging to his sweatpants. Her jaw was clamped onto the loose cloth, and he was pulling her along. I smiled and sprayed a pan with non-stick spray. "I think a certain puppy likes your sweatpants." I said. Ein smiled and reached down to pet Crystal. "I think so." he agreed. I poured the eggs into the pan and moved the bacon around. "Smells good." Ein said. When the eggs finished cooking, I divided them into two plates, along with the bacon. I handed one plate to Ein and put the other plate on the table. I went into the bedroom to grab my phone, then walked back into the kitchen, where Ein was stuffing bacon into his mouth. I smiled and sat down at the table. I scrolled through my contacts and found many, many, messages from Gene and Aaron.
Gene- Eli, Sasha misses you, so when can we hang?
That was from three days ago.
Gene- Hey, can you come tag with us today? I don't remember the last time you went with us
Gene- Eli, is something wrong? You haven't been answering my texts
Gene- Eli are you ignoring me? Did I do something wrong?
Gene- We miss you. Please answer me. Please...
That was from earlier this morning.
Aaron- Hey, Shu asked me to text you. She wants to know if you can play today
Aaron- Eli Shu said that you haven't logged on for over a month! Is everything okay?
Aaron- Goldie, I need you. Please don't leave me.
This was from just a few minutes ago.
Eli- Aaron, I'm sorry I haven't answered you. I was just busy, and didn't check my phone.
Aaron- Eli! I thought you were ignoring me!
I clicked the 'call' button. He answered immediately. "Eli, I thought you were dead!" Aaron said as soon as he answered. "No, silly. I've just been really busy here. I haven't really checked my phone that much." I said. "Well, Shu does want to play with you, but that was two days ago. I think she still does." Aaron said. "I'll try to log on, but I can't guarantee it. I have a very tight schedule." I told him. Ein started laughing. "What?!" I yelled. "As far as I know, your schedule is just laying around, doing nothing." he laughed. "It is very time consuming!" I told him. "What's very time consuming?" Aaron asked. "Ein just said my schedule was just laying around doing nothing, but I told him it was very time consuming." I explained. Ein grabbed my phone and put Aaron on speaker. "Yeah, but laying around isn't very exciting! Eli thinks petting Crystal and watching horror movies is fun. And very much worth doing. But I always tell her she should do something fun." Ein said. "If Eli enjoys it, just let her do it. She doesn't have to do exciting stuff. But, I will say that it's better to go out and do stuff, rather than just sitting around all day." Aaron said. I smiled. "See? I can do what I want to." I said. "Aaron...You were supposed to back me up!" Ein groaned. "So Eli, can you log on today?" Aaron asked. "Shu really misses you."
I smiled. "Maybe I will later. I'll try to find the time. I have someone I need to talk to later." I told him. "Sounds good. Oh, gotta go bye!" The phone made a weird noise and Aaron hung up. "Well, it seems I have won." I said triumphantly. Ein handed me my phone back. "Yeah, but he did say that it's better to go out." he retorts. "Well, you might have better luck with Gene." I told him, and called Gene, making sure it wasn't on speaker. "Hello?" Gene answered. "Hey Gene!" I said. "Eli?!" Gene yelled. I smiled. "Sorry I haven't been answering your texts. I've just been really busy. Sitting around, making Ein cupcakes, and trying to ignore my brother's constant texts." I said. "I'm just so happy you actually called me. You don't know how much it freaks me out when you don't answer." Gene said. I laughed. "Sorry to cause you stress." I said. "Sasha's been missing you. She said that she never got to read your palm because we were all too busy tagging." Gene told me. "Maybe I can stop by the park tomorrow to hang." I said. "Really?! That would be great!" Gene said. "Oh, before I forget, Ein and I had an argument today. He said that I should be more active, but I just want to sit around. Aaron said that I should do what I want, but he also said that it's better to go out. Can you talk some sense into Ein?" I asked. I could just see the smirk on Gene's face. "Sure...It would be a pleasure," he said. I turned the phone on speaker. "So Ein...I heard you wanted to get Eli out of the house." Gene said. "I do." Ein replied. "Well, if you bring her to the park, I can keep her at the park doing stuff with the gang. Meet me under the bridge in ten minutes." Gene told Ein. "Gene!" I shouted. Ein smirked. "Will do." he said, and picked me up bridal-style.
