Left is Army and Right is Navy

I thought about following the traditional military ranking system but ehhh whatever.

I have given age some thought here. General Hux is 34 canonically. He's young because the First Order is young/new. Many of the Empire oldies are dead or too old to lead. They've lost their fanatical anger and ambition for the cause. Hux has all of that. Additionally, Hux got his rank due to nepotism. He's got daddy's power and he's ready to wield it.

So how did *insert* character become a Colonel at her age if it weren't for nepotism? Simply make her someone the First Order needs.

What does the First Order need? Unapologetic and apathetic fanatics that will do just about anything for "the cause."

Little reminder: We are in villain territory. Villains do bad things and will easily write it off as if they did something good.

I hesitated on the last chapter and I'm hesitating on the next chapter. But it's the First Order, dammit. And I'll be damned if I don't touch upon the fanatical terrorism and the instillment of fear tactics they use on the galaxy. Any officer of the First Order that casts doubt upon their "right" to rule will be subsequently tried for treason and killed... and they would NOT be in any high ranking position.

Additionally, this sort of veered off the path of the movies. Starkiller Base didn't get much time to thrive so let's pretend it didn't explode. I'm having fun with the idea of the First Order winning, because it just makes more sense. Resistance always seems to win with sheer luck and ex machina crap.

^ lol Ex Machina... nice pun if I don't say so myself. If you wanna see Hux and Poe in a movie together then there you go.
