One Lotus upon the Pond and the Koi Fish within the Pond.

The Lotus yearns for another flower to blossom but can only take solace at the Koi Fish that flow beneath him. Only The Lotus can see both worlds and he is on top of theirs.

The Koi Fish do not care for this single flower that is stagnant in one place, for they have their freedom to swim around with the other fish.

One Koi Fish takes an interest in this lonely, immobile flower. One Lotus looks down upon the Fish that is trapped in the Pond.

"So your mission was to capture the jedi, Rey, but now it's to kill her?" I ask him.

"Correct." Kylo nods.

"And Poe Dameron knows her location?"

"Most likely. I'm hoping he does."

"I guess it's a good thing that Captain Phasma recognized him. Still, I really don't get it. You're stronger than that jedi and yet you've failed to kill her how many times now? Seems to me like a waste of time. I've never seen her. She doesn't actively scheme with the Resistance. We literally don't receive any reports about her. Why continue to hunt Rey?"

"Because those are my orders."

"You could be doing so much more to help the First Order. Have you tried talking to Supreme Leader about it?"

"Questioning Supreme Leader's authority will get you killed. You should know this already."

"I'm beginning to think you don't like this mission either. Your only argument is 'because Snoke told me to do it.' What's your personal opinion about the matter?"

"If General Hux told you to bomb a bunch of innocent civilians, would you do it?"

"Rey is not an innocent civilian. She is part of the Resistance, but just isn't active like Poe here." I point at him from behind the two way mirror separating us from this scum.

"But... ugh." I sigh and pick up my coffee and swirl it around. "But let's just pretend she's equivalent to an innocent civilian. So would I bomb a bunch of innocent civilians if Armitage told me to? Good question. Maybe. There have been times where he did not disclose his reasoning until after the orders were carried out. Usually for a valid reason. So... I guess... yea. I would. Because I trust him. What about you? Do you trust our Supreme Leader?" I take a sip of the somewhat warm coffee.

"It isn't a matter of trust. I must do his bidding."

"That's an easy no. What good is a leader if they can't be trusted?"

"Careful who you say that too." Kylo glances at me and then back to the prisoner.

"I'm not saying he's untrustworthy. It's just a general statement."

"And what if he were no longer trustworthy?" Kylo asks.

"Well I'm not sure. The easiest action would be to get a new leader that represents the First Order."

"Spoken like a true Rebel."

I scoff. "Don't joke about that. Please. That's so not funny."

I stare at the Resistance pilot still in his torn up orange jumpsuit through the two-way mirror. His brown hair is damp from the slight fever he has. He's fast asleep out of sheer exhaustion. His festering, and most likely painful, wounds were intentionally left untreated. Most of the blood on him has dried into brown and maroon hue.
