The Imperial Ball is being held on Coruscant, at the Imperial Palace. A large number of people are here to celebrate. It isn't just military. It's Imperial family names, nobility, sponsors, important supporters, politicians, and old friends of the Galactic Empire. There are so many lavish gowns, expensive accessories, all shown off with narcissistic greetings and snobby attitudes.

I thought my dress and gold accessories were fancy, but I almost feel like it isn't enough. Oh well. I'm dressed up for Hux and that's all that matters.

I giggle at how silly Hux and I had been acting ealrier today.

When we first arrived, we both acted so shy. We checked into our room, suitcases in hand. It was all almost surreal. The receptionist accidentally called me Missus rather than my proper officer title. Hux and I stammered through our words, correcting her about my name and then we had to explain that we were in fact, sharing a room. My face felt so heated up from embarrassment. I glanced at the people behind me. No one seemed to pay any mind. I looked up at Hux, who was staring at the ceiling, redder than ever.

Our suite was- well pretty sweet. Perks of being a high ranking officer I guess. It was this really large room, all open space. A huge bed in the corner, couches and tables in the middle of the room, a little kitchenette that we probably won't ever use since we would just order room service. There were these huge double doors that led to this big balcony area. Right outside, just a courtyard away, was the Imperial palace where the ball would be taking place.

We got ready in such a silent and akward way, avoiding eye contact and blushing. I'm not sure why it felt different, but it did.

How silly of us to act this way.

The beautiful dark night was decorated with stars and faraway galaxies filling the near black sky above us. The waning gibbous moon stood high above the palace, giving a cool purple-blue hue to everything. Coruscant is a stunning planet to be on.

My floor length, twilight purple dress shimmered in the hints of light from the moonlight and ballroom behind us as I cooled off outside on a large white and grey balcony. Wisteria vines drape over much of the railing. I look down at my shiny black heels and then the leather black boots to my right. Pastel purple petals sprinkle the floor.

I glance at Hux, casually smoking his cigarette. I trail my eyes up, taking in everything I possibly could for the hundreth time tonight. His long black cape barely flows from the lack of wind. It has a hint of yellow from the bright warm lights behind him. The front of his charcoal black uniform jacket, has hint of blue coming from the shadows of the night. His hair is still as vibrantly orange as ever. I look down at his black pants and reach into his pocket for a lighter for my own cigarette.

Everything is beautiful and serene.

"Interesting. Your dress matches the sky." A calm and thoughtful voice says. He flicks his ashes over the side of the thick railing as he leans forward, looking up.

"Mhm." I hum in agreement with a cigarette in my mouth. I rest my elbows on the rail and look down. The people below us are only a few stories down. I observe the colorful movement below us. Despite being surrounded by machinery and metal and man-made objects, it is covered by trees that outline the big courtyard adorned with all kinds of intricately placed flowers and plants. I'm not sure who approved of the decorations, but it is beautiful nonetheless. The Imperial palace almost doesn't look like itself.

"Are you having fun?" Hux asks, now staring at his cigarette. He takes the fancy garnish out of his vodka cranberry and sneers at it before flicking it off the balcony.
