Hux ended up sleeping in my quarters that night. We had our fun and simply enjoyed eachother's company. I did mention that what we had done will never happen again. No snow. No side of the buildings. No uniforms. Follow the rules.
Hux rolled his eyes while I spoke, took the pillow under his head and smothered my face with it to muffle my voice. In turn, I took the pillow from under me and smacked him with it. He sat there dumbfounded for a good minute; hair messy from impact. Hux was genuinely offended; nearly couldn't believe that I would ever do that to him. But then a small glint of green shined in his narrowing eyes. He dared me to hit him again. I really thought about it, but decided that maybe it wasn't a good idea. He hadn't been his usual confident and uptight self today. He seems easily angered- he's always easily angered but this is different. Hux is stressed and I don't know why.
He huffed out an annoyed breath and wrapped his arms around me. We simply cuddled and whispered loving phrases to eachother. Half of his words, I simply couldn't understand, nor was I awake enough to even ask what they meant.
The next day was when many of the high ranking officers showed up. I was extremely busy and Hux decided to help out without me asking. And when I mean by helping out, he simply took over and started barking out commands. I was annoyed because not only do I not need him to do my job for me, he didn't even ask. I was going to say something too. When I called out his title, Hux immediately snapped at me. Once he realized who it was, his anger quickly faltered. I guess he wasn't in a good mood that day either. The weirdest part was that he apologized. Hux doesn't apologize. Officer's don't apologize to lower ranks. I'm more worried about that rather than him snapping.
Of course, we spent time together after our tiring shift, but he ended up leaving to his chambers to take care of some extra work. He didn't want to keep me up since he'll be making calls and briefing the Supreme Leader. I found it odd that he didn't specify or explain what he was working on. He always does with me.
This morning was the tour of Mehdo's shipyard with my guests. Hux ordered the schedule to be changed two hours later than the previous time without my permission. Now I'm furious. I had to move other things around just to compensate for his tardiness. He said it was from last night's hangover. Seriously? A hangover? When did he even drink? I know he left my quarters late, but to think he would drink afterwards? He's really starting to piss me off!
But then something happened. Mehdo called through an emergency channel. There was another issue at the shipyard. Something blew up.
It turns out that one of the technicians swapped serial numbers of different but similar parts. This caused the engineers to install it wrong. I'm not sure exactly how it works. It has something to do with compatibility of fusions or something. A fire ended up breaking out after a huge explosion. It killed some of the engineers and destroyed a handful of TIE fighters and other ships. Mehdo, Hux, and I found the technician in charge of verifying the serial numbers.
Now here I stand outside in the snow, focusing on not completely losing my cool. The technician is on his knees before me as I do my very best to not say every curse word in the book. "You're lucky General Hux changed the time! Your actions could have killed our guests!" My hands are now on my hips and I lean over him. This morning has been an absolute mess and I'm ready to punch something.
Mehdo also interjects. "That blast could have killed you!" He says to me.
He's right. I was supposed to be giving a tour of the engineering section with the high ranking officials. I'm alive. I was really mad at Hux but now I'm wondering if I should be thanking him. No. I shouldn't be thanking him. He had a hangover. Who does that?
