A/N: I feel like this chapter is a tad bit boring. A lot of stuff got wrapped up, but opened the door to explore some other things. In order to do that, we need to establish a framework and do some storybuilding. The Colonel has changed. Let's explore a bit of that and have some fun. Her fundamental personality isn't different at all. She's just able to express herself a bit more. She's confident. She's in power.

Anyway, sorry this took a while. I had some dialogue issues and kept changing it around.

--------

Kylo Ren was fuming after his failed meeting. He stormed away. I haven't seen him all day. General Hux was glowing with a confident radiance. He was in such a great mood, that he was nice to random officers back at the bridge. Phasma had no clue what was going on. I filled her in. She gave me advice to simply let them fight it out. I think she could tell I wasn't too happy about my new task from Snoke.

I didn't come here to babysit. I don't want to be the mediator between them. As long as they leave eachother alone, I can get my work done. I came here to fight. And.... okay fine! I also came here to fuck Hux. But that's not the point. I finally see how some of these high ranking officers get away with breaking the rules now. They have to know certain people. Hux and Kylo know the Supreme Leader. Snoke couldn't care less about the dumb little things in the grand scheme of things. A dumb console is broken on a single ship, but can be repaired. Why tell him? A General is fucking his colleague, but it doesn't affect anyone. Why bring it up? Snoke doesn't have time to care about tantrums and girlfriends. Wait. Am I considered his girlfriend now? We technically did get approved by Snoke.

It's my first night on the Finalizer. All of these thoughts race through my mind and blends with my sleep. I blur reality and dreams. Without thinking, I roll over from under the covers and poke Hux. "Hey." I whisper. "Hey, I have a question." I tap him.

He stirs awake. "Hm? What's wrong?" He mumbles half asleep, squinting his eyes.

"Can I be your girlfriend?" I decide to ask him since I woke him up for no reason. I don't know why I did.

"You're more than just my girlfriend." He answers while wrapping an arm around me. He cuddles close to me.

"What do you mean by that?" I run my fingers through his disheveled messy hair.

"It means go back to sleep and don't wake me up again."

"No really. What do you mean by that?"

Hux sighs and reaches over to click a button to display the time on his nightstand. "I love you so much that I'm willing to forgive you for waking me up this early in the morning. You know I have issues sleeping."

"Didn't you take your medication?" I sit up to peek at the time as well. It's three in the morning. Why am I up at three in the fucking morning?

"I did, but that's not how it works. Once I'm awake, I don't just magically go back to sleep."

"Oh. I'm sorry. I won't wake you up next time."

"It's okay." He gets comfortable once again but then starts to fidget. He tosses and turns in the span of a few minutes, uncomfortable with every attempt to relax. He silently exhales a sigh of annoyance and gets back up. I hear him open his nightstand followed by a rattling of pills. "Hm... I shouldn't. It's way too late to take another. I'll be dizzy at work." He contemplates aloud.

"Tomorrow's a late start for us anyway. You should take advantage of that and sleep in for once."

"Doesn't matter. The later I start my work, the later I finish. I'd rather have the evening off rather than the morning. I may as well get ready now." He puts his pills back on the nightstand.
