Now having a full sense of trust, Shadow and Tails used their full variety of abilities to aid each-other. With shadow's short range of chaos control and Tails's ability of flight, the pair accelerated past the rest of the Icelands and a shady jungle in record time.

The curious part was that the Zeti had seemingly stopped attacking them. Shadow's best guess was their they were either biding their time or scared to go near them.

Eventually, they came across the first piece of grassland where they got a chance to rest. Tails used his binoculars, seeing a large device in a volcanic area. That must've been the device that was draining their world.

Tails: Shadow! I see the device, we're almost their!

Shadow ignored him, staring out into space.

Shadow: It's quiet...too quiet.

Tails's voice blurred out for Shadow, narrowing his ears.

The he heard it.

(Click-click)

Shadow: GET DOWN!

Shadow tackled Tails to the ground and ducked behind a hill as gunfire rained down toward them. Tails narrowly avoided getting a bullet in his head.

Omega stood in the roof above, Zavok standing behind him as his commander and chuckling.

Zavok: Omega, destroy these vile creatures...

Omega: Affirmative.

Omega jumped down with a thud, continuing to spray bullets at the hill the two were hiding behind.

Shadow: Tails, we have to go!

Tails: No, we have to help him!

Shadow: His tracking system is too fast! If Omega can keep up with me, he'll tear you apart!

Shadow grabbed the young fox and shoved him as they both started running, Tails taking flight. Unbeknownst to shadow, he drew some sort of antenna on a small screen and pointed it at Omega.

As they continued to take off, Omega eventually halted his barrage as they got too far away. Zavok overlooked everything as he chuckled.

Zavok: Finally...I've found the one thing they can't touch.

The world below was dying.

Trees were losing their colour as their leaves disappeared, f pickiest were running for their lives even as they started to feel weak.

Tails grabbed his Miles electric as he clicked the call button. Amy picked up the line, her voice shivering as Cream was freezing in the background as the Chao in the garden tried everything to comfort her.

Amy: It's t-too late for us T-tails...save the world...and k-k-kick some butt for all of us...Im sorry...I hope you make Sonic Proud-

The connection cut off.

Tails: Amy!? Cream?! Anyone?!

Tails stared desperately at the blank screen, hoping someone would pick up and tell him everything was okay...
