G.U.N headquarters was starting to somewhat become reorganised as Shadow tried as best he could to maintain order.

Phone lines were clearing up as Shadow looked over the situation, turning his attention back to Amy as they continued their conversation. Cream sat nearby in a motionless state with Cheese trying to comfort her. Shadow understood why after hearing Amy out.

Amy: Shadow, what's gonna happen to her?

Shadow: Protocol dictates that she should be placed in foster care until another member of her family is located.

Amy: Foster care? B-but...that means she'll be with strangers. And...she could never see us again.

Amy looked down sadly, contemplating as Shadow looked monotone as ever.

Shadow: I'm sorry Rose. It's protocol and there's nothing I can-

Amy: Give her over to me.

Shadow: Hmm?

Amy: I...I can take care of her.

Shadow: Amy, it's not an easy job if you just decide to take her. I'd be breaking a dozen rules-

Amy: Shadow, please...she's like a little sister to me and...I can't lose her. Not like Sonic...

That clearly struck a nerve. Shadow thought for a moment, before...

Shadow: (Sigh) Don't make me regret this.

Shadow nudged his head as he motioned for Amy to take Cream and go. She nodded and left silently, Cream running and hugging her as she tried to soothe the mourning Rabbit child.

Shadow watched through a window when Omega approached.

Omega: Agents are mobilising and regaining focus on duty at an accelerated rate. Workplace stability will be an acceptable 87% restored within the next 2-4 hours approximately.

Shadow: Thanks for the update Omega.

Omega: Commanding officers can contain any distress from this point on. What is our next objective moving forward?

Shadow glared at Omega, walking past him.

Shadow: Tell any mobilised team I want them to identify and track down any active Eggman Robot activities and pinpoint if any of them have Robotnik with them.

Omega: Objective is: Achievable. What is the base line goal with this mission?

Shadow: We're going to find the doctor...and make him answer for what he's done.

In doctor Eggman's hidden base, two robots were constantly moving back and forth in a sort of panic.

Orbot: Oh this is troubling! Very troubling indeed!

Cubot: Yeahs! The worlds going to bolts and the boss isn't even here! He'll be furious!

Orbot: Cubot, I am more so concerned with the fact it had been well over a day since the doctor enacted his last scheme and he has yet to return and yell at us!

Cubot: Yeah. Hey, should we get angry at him for leaving us in space? Some of my circuits are still frozen.

Before the conversation could be taken any further, a white void became apparent as a purple ring portal appeared. A scream could be heard before Eggman flew out of it and landed flat on his face.
