His red eyes and black sclera shining to life, Metal Sonic analysed his location from within his chambers.
The star-fall islands...
Once marked by Doctor Eggman as a future expedition site, Metal Sonic had deployed his own base upon the islands to repair himself after his last failure.
Of course, he employed the chance to explore. By implementing the islands technology into himself, he could perhaps become strong enough to combat the ultimate life-form himself.
Sage: Brother, you are online...
Metal Sonic looked up to meet the gaze of Doctor Eggman's latest A.I program, codename: Sage. Taking the physical appearance of a young girl with white hair, black clothing and red computer data lining her whole being, including her exposed red eye.
In his absence, Sage was activated aboard the Egg fleet and managed to fish him from the oceans of the destroyed egg carrier. She'd restored him to functionality, also explaining she was a program made by Eggman before his arrest. The doctor strangely called her "daughter", making Metal Sonic wish he could scoff.
Metal Sonic: Status report.
Sage: Plans to interface with the islands technology is going along well. I am ready to be deployed at a moment's notice.
Metal Sonic: Perfect.
Metal Sonic immediately deployed himself as Sage downloaded herself into a hacking module, Metal taking the device and jumping from the base onto the flowing grass of the first of 5 islands.
Before him stood a giant chair like structure, covered in moss and technological ruins of old. He attached the interface as it logged into the old network.
Sage: Uploading A.I Program.
The chair glowed red as its security protocols were overridden. Voices were heard crying out as the circle in top of the structure glowed with electric energy. A barrier flashed above the island before a line of red portals appeared behind Metal Sonic.
He turned, looking at a series of red one eyed robots that appeared one by one and lined up to meet him. He stood before them and raised his hands.
Metal Sonic: Rise.
On command, the robots rose and stared at Metal Sonic Blankly, weapons raised at the ready. Behind Metal Sonic though, the device Sage was contained in sparked with smoke as he turned around.
Metal Sonic: Sage, state your status.
Sage: Simulations complete. Activating protection protocol.
Suddenly, the chair activated some sort of vortex that started pulling Metal Sonic in.
Metal Sonic: Sage, I order you to-!
But it was too late already. The vortex sweeped him off his feet and pulled the metallic hedgehog into its everlasting grip...

Flying high above the clouds, the newly repaired Tornado flew with Tails at the helm.
Sitting in the seat behind him was Amy, while Shadow stood perched on the wing of the biplane.
