Some stirring behind knocks you away from unconscious sleep; whatever dream you were having suddenly ending like a blackout at the movie theatre. You feel your brows furrow in slight annoyance, thinking something small had just woken you up before attempting to drift back to slumber.
Yet the rustling behind doesn't seem to stop, and you feel a dip in the bed from behind. As your mind continuously drifts between reality and awareness, you feel something wrap around your upper arm, which makes your eyes flicker open for a moment.
"Y/N," A somewhat inaudible whisper crawls in your ear from your wife. "Sweetheart, can... can you wake up?"
"Mmmh," You mumble tiredly in response, turning your body in bed so that you were laying on your back this time. The room was still pitch black, but you can feel Nayeon merely pressed against you. "What... is it? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it's just..." There was some hesitation in her voice. "...I'm having those, uh, cravings again."
Her words finally seem to bring some awakeness into you. You lean away for a few moments to turn on the lamp on your bedside table, before noticing the time displayed on your phone and some unsureness slip within you. Shooting a glance towards the window, you notice it was still entirely dark outside.
"Honey, it's..." A yawn escapes your lips as your turn yourself toward her, eyes momentarily looking over her equally bare face and swollen stomach. "It's almost three in the morning."
"I-I know, I'm sorry. That's why I didn't want to wake you," She bites her bottom lip in disappointment, her hand lightly caressing over her tummy. "but... it's been a bit hard to control."
It isn't the first time your wife has gotten pregnancy cravings. In fact, it's been happening a lot more frequently. She's just nearing the middle of the second trimester, and from the research you've done, you expect for her cravings to gradually peak around this time.
As her words sink in, a soft smile crosses your face. You reach over to grab her hand into yours, caressing over her knuckles gently. "You don't need to be sorry. I just... I didn't expect for it to come right now."
Nayeon chuckles quietly, her loving bunny smile appearing on her own face despite looking a bit embarrassed. You let go of her hands to stand up from the bed, fixing your clothes and your hair before turning back towards her.
