"Y/N, everyone, say cheese!"
"I'm getting soaked! Why did we agree to come out here?"
"We're all going to wake up sick tomorrow!"
You reached down and grabbed onto Minji's hand, twirling her around as the raindrops drenched your clothes and school uniforms with nothing but smiles of happiness clouding each of your faces. You definitely knew this would be a memory that will last for eons.
The last thing you saw was a pair of bright headlights practically swerving in your direction, the rain pouring down and the sounds of thunder exploding in the air. You can't see anything as a thick fog swarmed the air and the sounds of laughter cutting off like a slash to the throat and fading into the sounds of the storm.
The next thing you knew, everything was dark.
It was almost like a filter𑁋a certain greyness that plagued the world through your pupils. The walk around the schoolyard seems more dreadingly unbearable as your arm is clutched at your chest, a thick and heavy plaster wrapped around. A deep feeling of guilt sinks within you; you can sense them looking at you. Everyone looking at you.
It's been happening like this for the entire day, and you aren't sure why. They're staring at you as if you've grown a second head, as if you've came back a new person. The doctors had mentioned you were fine and recovered enough, but why does it feel like you've woken up in a completely different world?
However, it was okay, because you still have your group of friends. They don't look at you differently. After the accident, they remained by your side. They wouldn't ever leave you, right?
Especially... her?
The smiles that used to greet you had disappeared; in fact, you hardly recall ever seeing a single compassionate smile that didn't belong to your friends. Instead a lingering feeling of emptiness fills the voids in between. They all feel so far ahead, more than arm's away to catch up with, while you were the back attempting to piece together the wounds that nearly took you away from this world in the first place.
