Oh my gosh, I'm a nervous wreck. The saying repeats in your head multiple times, your available hand coming to adjust your outfit, check yourself on your phone camera, while shakily holding a bouquet of flowers in your other hand. Anxiety bores inside to the feeling of multiple eyes staring in your direction, seeing you awkwardly standing and waiting for your girlfriend to deboard the plane.
The thing is that you can literally seethe plane right outside the large windows, having landed not that long ago. Your girlfriend is in that exact plane𑁋having travelled from Korea to where you live. You still can't believe it, feeling the nerves already spreading within your body. It's your first time ever meeting up after being long distance for nearly six months. You have a whole day planned ahead with her, and you hope to make every moment count.
A bit of impatience merges with your nervous fidgeting, a combination certain to increase your anticipation. You can't wait to see her, to finally hug and be close with her, yet at the same time, you're shy as it can be. What if she doesn't like the real feeling of you in real life? Instinctively, your eyes shoot toward the gate that was now opened, scanning amongst the sea of people emerging out. Biting down on your lip nervously, you approach a few steps closer while keeping a close eye of your girlfriend.
"Y/N!" A familiar light voice calls your name, making your gaze dart back and forth to look for the source. Then you finally notice her recognisable doll eyes sticking out of the crowd, a bright and relieving smile on her face as you both make eye contact for the first time.
Maybe it was the adrenaline, but you feel your feet kick into gear as you both run up at the same time before engulfing each other into a hug. As her hands make the contact with your back, you feel your heart beginning to race. Everything about this moment𑁋her warmth, her scent𑁋you just knew it felt right.
The hug is surrounded by silence, the two of you becoming familiar and easing into each other's presence. It felt as if you've taken the very first steps despite being together for a while. The gesture is already intimate enough.
