Waking up the next day it took Charlie a few seconds to realize where he was.

He knew he was in his bedroom, but his positioning on the bed felt strange. Groggily rubbing his eyes it took him a few moments to remember why he was laying horizontally across his bed instead of vertically.

It took a few moments for him to remember that what happened last night had actually happened. But still he hoped it to be a dream, some kind of nightmare.

Rolling off the bed, she dressed for work, brushing back his red tousled hair and slipping on his jacket.

His eyes scanned the dining hall for Saffron once he arrived, his body slumping to find her not there.

Grabbing a bowl of cereal, he sat down with hos co-workers who were chatting animatedly about the dragons.

"Hello, hello Charles. You look like crap mate," Tim smiled as Charlie sat down.

"Feel like crap Tim," Charlie muttered as he scooped some cereal on his spoon and into his mouth.

"Cheer up, we get the easy job today," Henry smiled, clapping Charlie on the back. Charlie gave a small smile as he crunched, groaning inwardly as today was not the greatest day to get the easy jobs.

Not that anything was easy, some jobs just took up more time doing then allowing you to think.

Breakfast was followed by crap.

Foul dragon crap with a consistency that made Charlie want to vomit.

"You alright Charlie?" Dan asked as Charlie scraped some poo into a pile.

"Yeah, tired is all," Charlie shrugged.

"Nothing to do with Saffron right?"

"No," Charlie lied, continuing his job.

It seemed like he was at it for hours, but it turned out to be only mere minutes. Minutes that were ticking by slowly.

"Hey Charlie!" Charlie looked up to see Caleb jogging towards him.

"I heard about you and Saffron," Caleb said glumly.

"No about Saffron hey?" Dan muttered under his breath but Charlie ignored him.

"What do you mean?" Charlie asked, acting as if he had no idea what Caleb was talking about, hopefully hearing something other than their break up.

"You guys splitting up. I just wanted to make sure you're ok?" Caleb asked concerned.

"I'm fine. Thanks," Charlie said as he began scraping again.

"Ok then. I'll see you later," Caleb said awkwardly before jogging off again.

"Split up and didn't even bother to tell your own mate," Dan shook his head.

"Sorry. I was going to tell you, it just happened and I don't really want to talk about it," Charlie said.

"I bet you're thinking about it a hell of a lot! Merlins beard Charlie, I'm your best mate. You think you'd tell me!" Dan said gruffly.
