The next day came too quickly for Saffron's liking.
She pulled herself out of bed and down to the kitchen where she noticed everyone still asleep.
She sat at the table, unsure as to whether or not she should start preparing breakfast when with a poof, Arthur Weasley and Remus Lupin appeared in the kitchen. Saffron stood straight away, her heart thumping a little bit quicker at the scare she got from them entering.
"Saffron! Good morning!" Arthur smiled, taking his hat off and placing it on the table.
"Good morning Mr Weasley, Mr Lupin," Saffron politely greeted.
"Please, it's Remus," Lupin smiled.
"Remus it is," Saffron smiled.
"Is Molly still sleeping?" Arthur asked.
"Yes, everyone is asleep but me."
"I'll be right back! Excuse me," Arthur said, hurrying towards his bedroom. He knew his wife had been safe and sound but in times like these, who can really be sure.
"Could I get you a glass of water? Or something to eat?" Saffron asked Remus, trying not to come across as awkward.
"No, thank you but no. I'm only here for a quick stop," Remus smiled and Saffron nodded.
She sat down again, twiddling her fingers, unsure as what to say.
"What's it like?" Saffron asked. "What's it like out there now?"
Remus breathed a sigh of relief, glad she wasn't asking a question about what it was like being a werewolf.
"It's dark, very gloomy. You don't see many people, and when you do they are rushing, or they're Death Eaters," Remus explained. "Ever since the twins closed they're shop for a while no one can be seen in the streets. Diagon alley is like a ghost town."
"It sounds horrible," Saffron frowned.
"Oh it is. But then again when was You Know Who and his followers ever not horrible?"
"You're right," Saffron frowned, thinking only of Fenrir Greyback.
"Saffron, I know you must have grudges on….certain Death Eaters, but you can't go out there. You can't go find them and you can't try to kill them," Remus whispered.
"What do you mean?" Saffron asked, taken aback a little.
"I knew your father, he was once a friend of mine. I know who killed him and why they did," Remus admitted.
"You knew my father?" Saffron asked confused.
"Yes, we met a couple years after school. Your mother was a good friend of Tonk's too," Remus explained.
"How come I never met either of you," Saffron frowned.
"You did, once, when you were a child," Remus said. "You won't remember but I remember you."
"Wait, you said you knew who killed my father and why. What do you mean why? Was there a reason he was killed?"
"There's always a reason with him."
"What was it? The reason?"
"Your father knew too much. Too much about his plans, too much about the horcruxes. Your father was a threat, and not willing to join the dark side. Your father hid you all out in the Muggle world and when You Know Who was defeated your father thought it was safe to come out of hiding. But it never was for him.
