February had come and gone and they were now entering the month of March.
Not a word had been heard from Ron though Molly had received word that they had been to Fleur and Bill's and that they were alright and all intact. Though this news ha not been able to calm Molly Weasley down much, she now new that her son and his friends were still alive.
Saffron was still worried about Greyback, and him maybe planning her death, but she didn't let it waste her time anymore. Her days being filled with housework and chores to help Molly out a bit. She couldn't wait to be back at work, only she wanted everything to be ok when she did. She still couldn't believe that her and Charlie hadn't been sacked, instead allowed the extra time off due to circumstances and their jobs would be ready for them when they were able to safely return.
Despite it being spring, the skies were still dark and overcast and rain still threatened, a cold chill ran through the air and everything was just down right gloomy.
Saffron knew she couldn't handle this gloom and so made sure to be busy at all times. The twins were very thankful for this as it meant that they got out of doing any chores themselves.
Usually Molly would object, saying that Saffron needn't be doing so much, but she preferred this Saffron- the real Saffron- to the one she had seen only a month previous.
The only person who objected to Saffron's busy schedule was Charlie, but he too understood the importance of her mind being kept busy.
Saffron had begun sleeping better and eating better and despite the gloom, was able to keep everyone the slightest bit cheery, although it now seemed draining to be happy.
On night in the middle of March Saffron hadn't slept and so stayed awake to get a start on the next day's chores.
When everyone woke up the next day Saffron was up, dressed and had made breakfast. After cleaning the kitchen she realized, not only were her chores done for the day and the house completely spotless, but that the sky had cleared up slightly and that it wasn't so dark.
"Take a walk?" Charlie's voice asked from beside her.
"Good idea," Saffron smiled, slipping her feet into some shoes and her hand into Charlie's the two ventured out (after letting everyone know where they were going) into the wilderness of the Weasley's back yard.
"I'm sorry that the only place I have to take you is still part of the house," Charlie said and Saffron smiled.
"It doesn't matter."
"No it doesn't I guess," Charlie said. "You're finally done with housework and theres the tiniest bit of light today so it doesn't matter where we are."
"It's like a little bit of hope isn't it? All this gloom and housework and like a day right in the middle it's lighter."
"Woah, going all deep on me there," Charlie said and Saffron laughed.
The two walked in silence, their hands swinging in between them.
"I was thinking that maybe we should try to do something like this, every few days or something. It feels like I haven't seen you in a week and we've been under the same roof," Charlie pointed out.
"That's true," Saffron replied. "It's like I'm trying to keep myself so busy, when really I could just be spending time with you."
"I can keep your mind off things," Charlie said with a wink and Saffron laughed before Charlie's face became serious again. "You do have a busy mind though."
"Yes, you're right. Quite an imagination to," Saffron said, stopping where she was.
"Really?" Charlie asked though he already knew this as he stopped in front of her.
"Yes," Saffron nodded. "But I'm glad I don't have to imagine this anymore." Standing up on her tip toes, Saffron pushed her lips to Charlie's, and he sweetly kissed back.
"That was better than I had in my imagination," Saffron said once they had pulled away.
"Nothings better than the real deal," Charlie laughed.
"I agree," Saffron said and they began walking again.
"What do you suppose will happen after it's all over, given that it'll finish in our lifetime," Saffron asked.
"I don't know," Charlie said. "Well I guess afterwards everything will go back to being as normal as possible right? I mean that everything will eventually med itself, Hogwarts will go back to normal, well as normal as possible without Dumbledore, and you and I will go back to work, together I hope," he smiled at her.
"Yes we will," Saffron smiled. "I'm going to miss this place though. Your family."
"I know how you feel. But don't worry, you're always going to be welcomed back," Charlie said. "They all adore you."
"Even though I'm a nutcase?" Saffron asked and Charlie laughed.
"You can't be anymore crazy then we are," he smiled.
"Have you ever though about, our future?" Saffron asked slowly, not sure how Charlie would react to this question.
"To be honest with you Saff, I've given it a lot of thought," Charlie said. "And there are things I want to change and things I don't."
"What sort of things?"
"Well for one I never want to stop feeling about you the way I do. I never want us to stop laughing or smiling and I never want our time together to end," his cheeks were a bit pink as he confessed to Saffron what he had been thinking about when he thought of their future together.
"I never want those things to change either," Saffron said giving his hand a squeeze. "But what do you want to change?"
"I want to change our situations. I don't want to be in times like this, I don't want one of us to constantly being worrying about something. I want us to spend more time together. And to top it all off I do not wish for us to be living with my parents our whole lives," he finished with a chuckle.
Saffron was smiling, but her mind was buzzing. He wanted a future with her, a real one. Though she had been in a similar situation with a person wanting a future with her before, she knew that this time was different, that no matter what, Charlie was going to get a future with her.
"I want those to change. I don't want to be a worry wart and I don't want you to be either. I want to spend more time together, doing thing together," Saffron agreed. "And living wise, as much as I love your family, no I don't want to live with them forever. But I'm confused, would you actually want me to,,,you know, stay with you?" She asked.
"Stay with me?" Charlie asked puzzled.
"Yeah, like in the future," Saffron cleared and a wide smile grew on Charlie's face.
"Stay? Oh Saff, no I don't want you to stay with me, I want to one day have you live with me, or me with you, you know,' Charlie said, he knew that he maybe thinking to fast and that he should be taking things as slow as possible with Saffron, but he can't help but want what he wants and he was just lucky that Saffron wanted it too.
"Yeah," Saffron nodded. "I would like that too."
Charlie was a bit shocked at Saffron reaction and she laughed at his wide eyes and slightly open mouth. He soon joined her before leaning forward and kissing her mouth.
