It was a few days before Charlie came to, and even then he still seemed out of it, not really rememebering anything, or making complete sentences.

Saffron spent as much time with him as possible, sometimes just sitting beside him holding his hand. She had to be there for him when she could. Between work and being asked to visit the longtail and ignoring everyone convincing her to apply for field work, Saffron liked being beside Charlie the best.

It was harder to spend so much time with him once they moved him back into his own house. Saffron was always first to offer to go and give medication and to check temperatures, etc.

Charlie would wake often now days, smile and say Saffron's name before rolling over and going back to sleep.

On this particular day Saffron was fluffing around Charlie's room, making sure everything was tidy and in order. She often liked to stop and look at the framed picture he had on his desk. It was a picture from Christmas, and Saffron smiled at the memory. Charlie's arm wrapped around Saffron's waist as the two shared giggles, Saffron placing her head on Charlie's shoulder every now and again and Charlie pressing a kiss to her cheek.

A loud thud came from behind her and she turned to find Charlie scrambling around on the floor.

"Charlie what on Earth?" Saffron muttered going over to him.

"Charlie?" Saffron asked once she saw that his eyes were opened.

"What's going on?" Charlie asked, sitting up.

"Charlie are you ok?" Saffron asked sitting in front of him.

"Yeah, but what happened?" he frowned.

"You were knocked out by the longtail. You've been out for three weeks," Saffron frowned.

"Crap," Charlie said, bringing a hand up to brush through his hair.

"How are you feeling?"

"Ok, my head does hurt a little though, but I'm ok," he shrugged.

"I still think you should rest," Saffron said, standing up and reaching to pull his arm.

"I do feel fine," Charlie protested standing.

"Into bed," Saffron ordered. Charlie smirked, climbing into bed. Saffron pulled the blankets around him before sitting beside him on the bed.

"You gave me a bit of a scare," Saffron said.

"I'm sorry," Charlie said, taking her hand.

"It's ok," Saffron smiled, giving his hand a squeeze. "You're ok now."

The two were silent, Charlie just happy to have Saffron happily holding his hand and Saffron looking at their hands entwined in each others and wondering why she ever wanted to end this.

"What do you last remember?" Saffron asked.

"You were about to say something, then the dragon came in and blank," Charlie said.

"Ok, good," Saffron nodded.

"What were you going to say?"
