'We should only be an hour or two I promise," Molly reassured the two as she stood with the twins.
"That's ok, we'll be alright," Charlie said, eager to talk to Saffron alone.
"I know you will, now, I'll see you later. Come on you two," Molly said and three apparated away.
Charlie now stood still facing where they were seconds ago and had no idea what he was going to say. Saffron didn't either and she stood beside him quietly as well.
"Would you like a drink? Of water?" Charlie turned and asked her.
"Oh, um, yes, yes please," she nodded and Charlie walked into the kitchen to grab out to glasses.
"Uhm, do you mind if we uhm, if we talk?" Charlie asked awkwardly, worried that she would say no.
"No of course we can," she agrees taking a seat at the table as he brings over to glasses and one in front of her before sitting across from her with his own glass. He didn't want to sit too close and make her feel like last night had to mean something, though he hoped it did.
Saffron was nervous to talk but she knew they had to or else there would be an awkward tension between them that she really did not want there.
"First off, how are you?" Charlie asked after a few minutes silence.
"I am, I am ok. A little sore but good. How are you?" she asked.
"I'm good, I'm good. Look I just want to apologise. I am really sorry about the other night when we were on watch. There are so many things I could have done to prevent that from happening and I didn't and I am so sorry please don't be angry with me and please don't hate me," Charlie said quickly in one breath, aware that he sounded like a child apologising, and Saffron couldn't help but give a small smile at how adorable he really seemed at that moment and also the fact that he thought she might have been unhappy with him.
"Charlie, it's ok. Please don't stress yourself out about it. I'm not at you, not at all. There was so many things I could have done and didn't. But I'm glad you cared enough to apologise, even though it wasn't your fault," Saffron told him and the huge rock in Charlie's chest disappeared. He felt better now that he knew that she didn't hate him.
Saffron was honestly a bit surprised that he had apologised. It hadn't even crossed her mind that he could have prevented her fall. But she wasn't angry now. It had happened, and she had just as much opportunity as he did and she did nothing.
She didn't say it out loud but, Saffron was glad it had happened to her and not to anyone else in the family. She hated the thought of any of the Weasley's being hurt, she had come to care for them in an unexpected way. She had never felt this close to someone since the accident, or even her fathers death.
"I'm glad we sorted that out then," Charlie smiled weakly for now he had become nervous for the next topic of conversation.
"Yes, me too. I hate that you thought I might be angry with you Charlie or even hate you. I couldn't," Saffron admitted, turning a startling shade of red as she looked in her lap.
"Me neither," Charlie said, making her feel a little bit better. "But can I ask you about.. Well about…"
"About what happened last night?" Saffron asked and he nodded.
"You just looked scared, and you were crying and I was so worried and I didn't know what to do or what to say. I didn't know what was going on," Charlie said remembering the events of the previous night. Saffron flinging herself around, screaming, crying, the look of horror and fear etched on her beautiful face, and her saying his name, over and over again.
