Everyone slept in late the next day. Remus and Tonks were the first to wake, leaving a note to thank the Weasley's before being on their way, late already for their days activities.
Ginny was next to wake, and went to the kitchen, making herself a hot drink and sitting down to quietly drink it, trying her best not to think about Harry and where he might be at that moment.
Saffron woke up not much later, heading down to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for everyone.
"Morning Ginny," Saffron smiled, wrapping her new silk dressing gown around her.
"Morning Saffron," Ginny smiled. "How did you sleep?"
"Well, and you?"
"Fine."
There was a silence as Ginny drank and Saffron preparing eggs, bacon and sausages- the usual.
"It's strange how we can have these small bits of happiness isn't it?" Ginny asked. "Like, we can just ignore what's going on around us."
"It is strange," Saffron agreed. "But I think it's important to have them. To keep happy, and thankful, and hopeful. We need something to keep us going until our next bit of fun."
"You're right. But some people can't, who are we to?"
"You're thinking about Ron aren't you, and Harry and Hermione?"
"Yeah," Ginny muttered, playing with the handle on her mug.
"I'm sure they're going great," Saffron smiled.
"How do you know that?"
"Well, we haven't had any news of any of their deaths."
"Good point," Ginny said, and she had to admit it made her feel a bit better.
Saffron continued to cook breakfast as Ginny finished her drink, and left to dress. Silently humming to herself, Saffron cracked the eggs and put on a few more sausages. Everyone will be hungry as it was nearly lunchtime already.
Saffron thought of the previous day. The presents, having a family Christmas was something Saffron had silently wished for each Christmas. It was the greatest day, and Saffron had just loved the jumper Molly had knitted for her. Where did she find that time though? She wondered this.
She thought of the meal they'd had that night, the jokes, the company, the laughs. Then the dancing, and everyone falling asleep except for her and Charlie.
She remembered the mistletoe and Charlie's lips on hers. The feeling she had, the disappointment of going to bed not too long after that, not being able to sleep out of excitement and the buzz that was pulsing through her.
Her thoughts were broken when she heard the deep familiar voice of Charlie himself.
"Saffron's in the kitchen," she heard Ginny's soft voice.
"Ok, thanks Ginny," she could hear the smile in Charlie's voice, though she felt a little nervous to see him again. She didn't know why. The kiss was something important to her, and she hoped that it was important to Charlie too.
"Good morning," Charlie's voice said from behind her, probably sitting at the bench.
"Morning," Saffron replied, flipping the sausages and bacon, her heart beating just that little bit faster it always did when she saw Charlie.
