They both slept in late that morning.
After an eventful day previously, and a long night, they decided a sleep in would be alright.
Saffron woke up first for once. Her body pressed closely to Charlie's and a blanket over to keep them warm. All she could do was sit up, there was minimal space and her body felt cramped from sleeping in the same position all night.
She shuffled back a little and gently lifted the blanket to see Charlie's leg. The bandage was red, but she could tell that the bleeding had stopped.
Others thought it was so easy to heal, to fix. But it wasn't. There wasn't a spell for everything, despite what some people thought. And she was only young, she didn't know all the spells to use in healing, but maybe one day.
Charlie's injury wasn't going to be incredibly easy for her. She could only do so much without ointments and creams and access to a first aid kit.
She gently peeled back her shirt, or her make do bandage. It was hard as Charlie's leg wasn't light, and she didn't want to awaken him with pain, though she heard him his in his sleep as soon as she touched his leg.
She gently unwound in and gently put it aside. She was right, the bleeding had stopped. But it was dirty and the wounds were still open. She knew that without proper cleaning they would get infected soon.
About to make some water with her wand, she thought better of it.
"Charlie," she whispered, gently shaking his shoulder. Charlie's eyes opened immediately and he winced as he tried to sit up.
"Stay," Saffron said, pushing him down.
"How's it look doc?" he asked with a small smile.
"The bleedings stopped. It just needs a wash, and some ointment. But we can't get that until we get back," Saffron explained, holding eye contact.
"Thanks," he smiled. Saffron nodded and turned back to his leg.
"Good morning Saffron," he said and she looked over at him. "By the way."
"Good morning Charlie," Saffron smiled, before tending to his leg, putting it in, what she hoped, was more of a comfortable position.
"Sleep well?"
"I did yes. How did you sleep?" Saffron asked.
"I slept, ok," he said, though he was lying. Charlie had slept in pain all night, just moving hurt it. Though it didn't hurt as much now.
"That's good. I'm glad you weren't in much pain. Now I'm going to have to get some water on this, like asap," Saffron explained. "I'm going to get a shirt to dampen."
Saffron began to careful slide out.
"Saffron," Charlie said taking her arm. "Use one of my shirts, ok?"
Saffron eyed her soaked in blood shirt and brought it to her.
"Ok," Saffron replied, hopping out of the little cavern.
She found the suitcase and sighed taking out one of Charlie's black shirts, and also one of hers.
