"Oh, Saffron, you're still awake," Molly said suprised, as she entered the kitchen,
only in a purple dressing gown and slippers, eyes red from crying.
"Yeah, I couldn't sleep. You?" Saffron asked, not wanting to embarrass her by
addressing her tear stained cheeks.
"Couldn't sleep either," Molly said, grabbing a glass of water before sitting beside
Saffron at the kitchen table.
"Molly, how are you doing?" Saffron asked. She was more than worried about her. She
couldn't understand how Molly felt, having no children of her own, but she knew the
feeling of loss and hoped that it could in some way help her to relate.
"You know Saffron, not so well," Molly admitted.
Saffron waas taken aback slightly by this answer. She was expecting it to take a lot
longer to get this reply.
"I know I can't feel what you do right now Molly, but I know loss, and if you need to
talk about anything, I'm here," Saffron said.
And with that Molly burst into tears. Saffron leaned closer, wrapping one arm around
her shoulders as Molly grasped her other hand.
"I am just so worried. How is he surviving? How is anyone survivng really? Ron, oh I'm
so worried. Ron, Harry, Hermione, if only I could see them.
Then there's Ginny at school, more like a toture house but if we didnt send her there,
who knwos what would happen.
"And Percy, who I haven't spoken to in so long. How is he handling it all. Oh if only I
knew." Molly sobbed and Saffron rubbed her back gently, soothing her.
"I'm not going to say it's ok Molly, because its not. Terrible things are happening and
we have no control over them. And your three children out there, I can't imagine how
you are feeling.
"I can't lie to you Molly and say that they'll be ok and this will all be over soon and
everything will be good again. Because I don't know if that's the truth.
"What I do know is that you have come this far, being the brave and strong woman you
are," Saffron said. There was no need to sugar coat things. Yes there was the
