After saving the world, and returning to the present day, Lucy thought that her and her family might finally be allowed to live a normal and peaceful life at last.
But as they entered the Umbrella Academy, they noticed many changes, the first one being that their brother Ben, was now alive.
Since Lucy had been the one who inadvertently caused Ben's death, she found it incredibly jarring to see him standing in front of her.
And it also appeared that their father; Reginald Hargreeves had replaced them all with a new group of kids, all wearing matching red uniforms.

"Dad, who the hell are these assholes?" Ben asked, pointing at the Hargreeves siblings, without any kindness or recognition on his face.
"Ben" grinned Klaus.
"Is that really you?" Luther asked, as he stepped closer to Ben.
Diego looked above Ben, to look at the people staring down at them from the balcony.
"Who are the weirdos on the balcony?" Questioned Diego.
"They are the Sparrows. My children" revealed Reginald.

"I'm sorry, what do you mean, your children? That's not possible old man" informed Five.
"Of course it is. They are my children. I'd think I'd know, wouldn't I?" Asked Reginald.
"Not necessarily" mumbled Lucy, as she thought about all the strange things that had happened recently to them all.
"Forget about that. Everyone else can still see Ben, right?" Questioned Klaus, who hadn't taken his eyes off Ben.
"Yep. I can definitely still see Ben" answered Lucy.
"Great. I haven't lost my mind then" smiled Klaus.
"Cute hat Sundance" mocked Ben.
"Klaus, your sanity has always been questionable" reminded Lucy.
"True" agreed Klaus.

"They call themselves the Umbrella Academy. A group of scheming, perfidious malcontents, who accosted me in the fall of 1963 in Dallas, while I was away on business. Be warned, they claim to be my spawn" announced Reginald, as the Sparrows made their way downstairs.
"Claim? What do you mean by that?" Frowned Allison.
"Yeah, there's no claim about it. You are our dad, even though we all wish you weren't, cos you messed us all up pretty good. And were a terrible dad" admitted Lucy.

"Five, what the hell is going on?" Questioned Allison.
"I don't know yet. But this is concerning" answered Five.
"You're telling me. The man who raised us, is now claiming that he didn't. As if the past few days haven't been confusing enough" frowned Lucy.
"Don't worry, I'm sure there is an explanation for all this" replied Five, as he tried his best to reassure his twin sister.
"Is all that about you true?" Asked the leader of the Sparrows, who's name was Marcus.
He stood in the centre of the Sparrows, making his leadership status visible to all.
"Sort of. Except for the part about us being scheming and perfidious" insisted Vanya.
"Yeah, we are amateur-fidious at best" added Klaus.
"Speak for yourself" mumbled Lucy.

"But we are his children. This is our house" announced Vanya.
"Yeah, this is our home, we grew up here" added Luther.
"Don't you think we would have noticed you, if that were true" said the prettiest girl in the Sparrows, named Sloane.
Luther began to blush, "Um, hi. I'm Luther".
"Enough of this. This is our house. You need to leave" insisted Allison.
After being forced to leave Raymond, and her old life in the 60's behind, Allison was not in a good mood, and certainly not someone you wanted to cross in that moment.

"Oh, well I guess we'll just pack up our bags and leave then" mocked the Sparrow, who's name was Fei.
The strange floating, coloured cube in the room, began omitting strange noises, and the rest of the Sparrows laughed, as they could understand it.
"You slay me, Chris" grinned Ben.
Lucy was starting to realise that she didn't like this Ben very much, and she really wanted to know what the hell was going on.

But things just kept getting weirder, for a moment later Grace walked in carrying a tray of biscuits.
"I didn't know that we were having guests. But I did the best I could with such short notice" announced Grace.
"Mum" gasped Diego.
"Mum? She's a robot, you perv" mocked the third female Sparrow, who's name was Jayme.
"Hey, don't talk about her that way. She's the one that raised us. She's not just some simple minded machine!" shouted Lucy.
"Yeah, and don't call Diego that" added Luther.

"Or what?" Questioned Ben.
"Come here and you'll find out" replied Luther, as he stepped even closer to Ben.
"Stand down Ben" ordered Marcus, but his words seemed to have no effect on Ben.
"I'd like to see you try, big man" grinned Ben.
"How about I shove that Rubik's cube up your ass?" Suggested Diego, as he pointed at Christopher, the cube.
"Can we all just calm down" begged Vanya.
"I'm with Vanya on this. I just spent the last week or so, fighting in numerous battles. And I nearly died yesterday, multiple times. So, can we please not get into another life or death situation" groaned Lucy.

"Enough!" Shouted Marcus, at his Sparrows, who had been hurling insults at the Umbrella's.
Jamye ignored him, and spat a strange black goo at Diego.
As it hit him he began to sweat profusely and stare off into the distance, as if in a trance.
"Look, I don't know what circus you freaks escaped from. But you need to leave our house, now" continued Marcus, as he looked back to the Umbrella Academy.
"And if we don't?" Questioned Allison.
"Then we will have to settle this the old fashioned way" threatened Marcus, as he cracked his knuckles menacingly.
"Hey, we just fought a literal army yesterday. We don't have to turn this into another fight. Let's just all take a deep breath and discuss this calmly, and rationality" insisted Vanya.

Klaus ignored them all, and stepped passed his siblings, closer to Ben, despite the tension in the room.
"Hey, Benerino. You look so much better alive, than you do dead, am I right? Except for that haircut" admitted Klaus.
"What the hell did you just say to me!" Snapped Ben.
"Come on, stop with all the hostility Mr Grumpy pants. Oh wow, nice scar. Very macho" replied Klaus, as he stepped even closer to Ben.
"Shut your mouth!"
"No, you shut your mouth. Come here, and give your favourite brother a hug".

Klaus reached out his arms, and prepared to hug his brother.
But instead of a hug, Ben decided to punch Klaus straight in the face, throwing him across the room.
It was then that Lucy realised they were not going to get out of this without a fight.
So, she took out some knives from her belt, and watched as Diego did the same.
They were two of the best physical fighters, and skilled warriors in the family, aside from Five. Which meant it was up to them, to protect the rest of the family.

I don't like misgendering Viktor, but unfortunately I am going to have to stick with it, until he comes out, in a few chapters time. So that I'm following TUA timeline.

Just like the first two books in my series, this book will contain mature themes. Sexual assault, substance abuse, and murder are prevalent themes throughout. So, read at your own risk.
